"someone is here for you," his mom shouted through their empty house.
their boxes already packed and on its way to their new home three hours away.
he ran down the stairs hoping it was you, but it was her.
"hey," she said with a sad smile.
"what are you doing here?" he asked slightly pissed that she came to see him right before he was leaving.
everyone either hated or congratulated him once they heard that he was expelled.
"i'm sorry," she said.
he smirked and replied, "apology accepted, now leave."
"why are you so mean? so mad? what did everyone do to you to make you this way?"
"no one wants to be my friend. no one ever questioned me or cared for me. everyone thought i was cool or a total douchebag. no one has hope in me to do anything good, and everyone just wants me to be their escape. i'm so tired of being everyone's baggage." he confessed.
he knew this was the last time he was going to see her, so he might as well tell her the truth. he never knew how telling her something like this could make him feel a little better.
she closed her eyes, "listen, i was one of those people. the people that hated you and didn't understand you, but i just got this feeling one day, and i wanted to understand you. i wanted to be your friend."
"yeah, well it's too late for that."
"if you think it is, maybe it is."
he stared at her inquitively and cocked his head, "why now? why not before?"
"the urgency. you leaving now. i just wanted to get it out before you leave." she smiled.
he nodded his head, "thanks."
"bye," she waves.
he holds his breath as he says, "see you soon."
they both knew that was a lie.
