"Hey sweetie," My mom said and kissed my forehead as I was just finishing my breakfast.

"Hey mom," I smiled at her as I stood up from the table with my plate.

I rinsed it off in the sink and then grabbed my bags.

"Can you drive me to school please?" I asked since my car was in the shops, getting an upgrade.

"Of course sweetie. Want to leave now?" She asked and I nodded. "Alright. Let's go then," she smiled at me and we walked out of the house.

She locked up the front door and we jumped into the car. She started it and we started driving to the High School.

"Are you excited?" She asked. I looked at her, confused.

"For what, School?" I asked and she shook her head.

"No! Your 16 today and so now you can find your mate!! Aren't you excited for that?" She asked and I shrugged.

"I don't know, I guess. I don't really want to find out who my mate is just yet," I said and looked out the window.

"Why not, Cameron? A mate is the most amazing thing to ever be created by the Moon Goddess! Don't you want that love? That special person to love and protect you, and you them?" She asked.

"Not everyone loves their mate, Mom. I've heard the stories where their mate is disgusted in them and they get rejected and end up dying. I don't want that to happen to me," I said and she frowned as she pulled up to the school.

"You won't get rejected, Cam. Your beautiful and if someone rejects you then they obviously don't have a brain or they have a small one at that," she said and I giggled.

"Bye Mom. Love you," I kissed her cheek as I opened the car door.

"Bye sweetie. Love you too," she said before I closed the door. I smiled and walked in the school.

As I walked to my 1st hour, an intoxicating smell hit me. I breathed it in and smiled. Maybe my Mom was right. Maybe my mate won't reject me.

I followed the scent and it lead to the gym. I opened the door where the scent was the strongest and saw Aiden Cortés.
