Chapter 02

Okay guys, I know nothing about courts. I mean.. I've never been to a court, so I don't what happens in them. So, I'm going to write what I know happens.

Here's the chapter.

Chapter Two

*Elena's POV* 

Anne! Her name was. I couldn’t believe that because of her my parents died, if she hadn’t appeared out of now where, my parents wouldn’t have crashed into her and died. The worst part is that she was the one that caused the accident, but she survived while my parents died. I think that’s unfair, but then again life’s unfair.

The policeman re-came to our house and explained what really happened to my parents. Apparently, this woman named Anne appeared in front of my parents out of nowhere and it was too late for them to stop. She crashed into them and their car rolled and fell off the valley.

After the policeman left, I was left hanging. What would I do now? Where were we going to live? We can’t stay in this house, since this house is rented and if we had to stay here, then I definitely needed a job. But even if I got a job, the money I get wouldn’t be enough to pay the rent of this house and our needs. Maybe I should find another house or maybe move to any of my relatives’ houses. But I don’t think moving into one of my relatives’ house is a really good idea since I don’t think any of them would be delighted to have us in. I have an alcoholic  uncle, I would never live with him. He actually killed his own wife when he was under alcohol. His wife was pregnant and she lost the baby and died too. I have another aunt who died like two years ago. My other aunt lives far  away from here. When I say far, I mean it. Actually, I don't even know where exactly she lives, I haven't seen her since my other aunt's death. It's been a long time. As for my mother, she had a half-sister who hated us, she even hated my mother. We aren't on a good relationship. Oh god! We really have a complicated family.

Half an hour from now was the court time and I was wondering what was going to happen. Was Anne going to jail or not? Was she going to be punished for what she did? Was she-

My brother snapped me out of my thoughts by asking, “El, where are we going to live now?”

I looked at him straight into the eyes and didn’t know what to say. His eyes said it all, he was afraid we would be separated by foster family. He knew I couldn’t afford this house, he knew that if we didn’t have everything needed, we wouldn’t be together anymore because we would be adopted or put in orphanages. But no, I wouldn’t allow that. Adoption wasn’t a choice, I would never want to lose my siblings. I would never let them go, even if I had to work all day and night just to keep us together, I would do that so I wouldn’t lose the only people left from my family.

“Don’t’ even think about it, not even once. I’ll do my best to keep us together, nothing would keep us apart,” I said.

“But El-,” I knew he was going to complain but I cut him off.

“I said nothing, and I meant it.”

“El, I just want you to know that if anything happened, I would always remember you and love you along with Em and Hanna. And-” I couldn’t help but smile at my caring fourteenth years old, and just thinking that I would ever have to leave him made me upset.

“I said it’s not going to happen, and if they ever tried taking any of you away from, I wouldn’t never allow them. Just have some faith in God and in me, and we would be able to get over this, trust me,” I smiled at him trying to assure him that I did mean what I say.
