Joel lived with Tess. Tess was a small farm girl that lived with her parents. Her parents owned a Ranch with about 172 acres in the middle of nowhere. When the apocalypse happened, Tess was away from the Ranch. Luckily her parents owned guns do to the fact they were in the middle of nowhere. But there hunting rifles ran out of ammo and they were killed. Tess was never able to go back to the Ranch and find her parents. While she was away from the Ranch she met another girl named Marlene. She was 27 and she didn't know any of her family. In fact she was adopted. Eventually after many years Tess and Marlene departed. That's when Tess found him. The Lone Joel.
