I immediately smelled the greasy food and heard all the young children screaming as I entered the large red gates above me. It had been years since I had been to an amusement park and I was very excited. It happened to be my 17th birthday, so my friends decided to take me out. I stared at the rollercoaster as it whizzed past my face while I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath of fresh air.

“Chloe, come on before you get lost!” said my close friend Karen. Karen and I had been friends since primary school. She had luscious blonde hair, dark brown eyes almost any guy would love to get lost in. She was the kind of girl every guy wanted. Me on the other hand, no guy ever paid any attention to me. I was invisible. I walked with my friends through the large crowds, trying to pin my long, brown, and hard to control hair back from my face. I was already sweating profusely. “Come on Chloe lets go ride The Intimidator” Karen said. As we were walking towards the ride, I heard a few girls screaming, but I didn’t pay much attention to it.

After the ride was over we rode a few others, and then I decided I wanted an ice-cream cone. “Let’s go get some ice cream girls!” I said.

“What are you thinking Chloe? You know I’m watching my figure!” Jenna said. Jenna was always the most popular girl since primary school. We had become friends at a young age, drifting apart the older we got. After standing in the heat waiting for someone to come with me, I decided to just go alone.

“I’ll catch up with you all later, I want some ice cream” I said. I turned around and took one step forward not paying any attention and fell back onto the ground. I looked up to see a man in front of me, holding an empty cup. He had spilt his soda all over me. “Watch where ya going next time” he said as he wandered off. I stood up embarrassed and walked to the closest stand I could find to get some napkins to clean myself off. As I was wiping off the sticky drink on my old Pink Floyd T-Shirt I noticed the stain wasn’t coming out. “

You like Pink Floyd?” I heard a raspy voice say behind me. I turned around to see one of the people that I had passed on my hurry to get the napkins. He was the most beautiful creation of a human being I had ever laid eyes on. He was tall, with dark brown curly locks swooping to the left. He had the greenest eyes I had ever seen. I looked at him, quite embarrassed.

“Yes” I said quietly. I never knew the right things to say, and when I thought I did it always came out wrong.

“There is no pain you are receding, a distant ship's smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move” He sang quietly. His voice was so different. It was dark and pleasing to my ears. I nodded and laughed. “I’m a huge fan of them myself” said the boy. He grabbed a napkin and helped me dry off my shirt. “Looks like you are going to need a new top, babe.” He said with a glimmering smirk on his face.

“ I’m sure I’ll be okay” I said spitefully right back at his comment.

“I’m just trying to lighten the mood hun, I know how it feels to have something spilt on me, such a tragedy” he said laughing. I didn’t find the comment very funny. I rolled my eyes, grabbed the napkin from his hand, and turned around to go throw them away.
