Maya: Saturday, 8:00AM

There is nothing creepier than an empty school. It was the perfect setting for a horror movie, and I was that stupid teenage girl who puts herself in a situation that is inevitably going to end horribly. There's always one. In the short time that I had been here, I had already imagined a hundred scenarios that would end in my parents being asked to identify my body at the morgue. What I lack in memory, I make up for in imagination.

In and out. No problem, I was only going to the second floor anyway. Imagine my surprise when I found out the main staircase was blocked and under construction. What was the meaning of this? School was in two days and they were renovating? I huffed. This is simply unacceptable. I will not stand for it. I will rant furiously in my head till I wear myself out!

There were two other staircases that lead to the top floor, one was on the other side of the school and the other was part of the janitorial system. It was off limits and even if I were to use it, I would have to find it and now is not the time. The only way I would track down some creepy door right now is if it lead to Narnia.

Getting to the other side of the school was a journey. There was a lot of ground to cover and the long winding hallways weren't making this any easier. It's quite tiring. Why oh why was I burdened with memory problems? I'm sure someone put a curse on me as a child. They probably couldn't handle my awesome mind and its ability to store information so they spent a night under a full moon brewing a horrible potion to rid me of my outstanding gift. What a treacherous person. Oh wait, there is no person I made it up. How moronic is that, I forgot I made it up.

Coordinated, I am not. I made it a couple of steps lost in thought before I tripped over something, went flying and landed on my stomach. Omph, for a couple of agonizing seconds I was winded. I turned on my back and sighed, how do I get myself in to these predicaments?  Laying down on the floor was kind of relaxing, the feel of the cool tiles on my back was soothing and it gave me a minute to just not think.

     That's when I heard it.

Sage and River: Saturday, 8:10AM

Sage and River were an unusual pair, and yes they were aware. They were two odd souls that somehow seemed to fit and it worked for them. When it came to focus Sage had stayed alert the entire time they were here, her eyes never losing that nervous edge. She walked with purpose through the halls of this "fine establishment". That's what her mother referred to the school as when she signed her up sophomore year. River on the other hand strolled through the school at a leisurely pace, though his walk was carefree his footsteps never made a sound. Ever.

They were planning to use the main staircase to get to the third floor but much to their inconvenience it was out of use. There was no way they could climb, crawl, or claw their way through, they should know, they spent five minutes sitting in front of the mess studying their options. This was a serious dent in their plan. The main staircase was the best to use because if you stood on its ledge you could tilt the camera so it was facing the wall.

"This is bogus! We can't use the second staircase because that whole area is full of surveillance! You'd think that we'd have good karma on our side or something. Do you want to use the Otherpath?", she asked River.

The Otherpath was a series of hallways, doors and shortcuts that students weren't permitted to use. Many of them didn't but a small portion of students frequently did. River and Sage were in that portion.

"Yeah I -" River started but then he noticed something. "Sage..." he said. She didn't hear him, she was too busy pacing. "Sage",  he repeated. This time she looked.
