Winter morning

As a soft glow emerged in the sky,
A burst of snow descended from the heavens.
Winter was here.
Smiles appeared everywhere.

Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...

Days passed by.

More smiles appeared. Excited smiles.

Stepping out of my house, I admired the view outside.
Everything was pure white, full of snow.
Houses were coated with snow.
Cars were coated with snow.
Grounds were coated with snow.
Trees were coated with snow.
Everything was coated with snow.

It looked so magical.

The lake had froze.
Through the bright sunlight shining at its thick surface, the lake glowed beautifully, like a pool of gleaming diamonds.
Laughter echoed around the streets.
Snowball fights began.
Ice skating began.
Snowmans started forming.
Everyone was having fun. Lots of fun.

Suddenly...

A cold and chilly gust of wind blew past me,  caressing my cheeks.

Brrrrrr

It was cold, really cold.
Goosebumps pricked my skin, spreading across my entire body.
I cupped my hands,  exhaled warm air in them, and rubbed both hands quickly.

Suddenly...

A snowball hit right at my face,
Leaving me in a daze.
Who was it?
My eyes darted around,  and saw my little brother.
Another snowball landed on my head. He giggled.
Gathering a snowball from the ground, I hurled it at him,
But I missed.
I grabbed another snowball,  and tried again.
Again, I missed.
Again, I failed.
Again, I my attempt was futile.
But I never gave up.
The snowball fight continued on and on, only to stop when I admitted defeat.
