Chapter 5

The Apartment*

What are you talking about?

Do you like him?

Who? Joe?

YES!! Well, do you?

Yeah........

Well, hear my plan to get him to like you.

Okay, but we need to Facetime

I start to Facetime Emily and she begins telling me her plan. Emily says, "So the plan is that you........" I hear Joe come up the stairs. I interrupt her and say, "He is coming." I hang up on Emily and I turn around to see Joe with messy hair and in his PJ's and slippers. "Hey!" I say trying to act natural.

"Sup," he replies "I just finished editing my video that will go up tomorrow,"

"Cool," I smile at him.

"What are you doing?" he smiles back.

"I was just facetiming my friend Emily from Australia," I reply.

"Cool, Can I meet her," he says as he gives a cheeky grin.

"SURE!!" I get out my phone and facetime Em again. She answers and before she says anything, I quickly say, "Joe wants to meet you."

"Hey," Joe answers in his cute English accent whilst waving his hand towards the phone. Em was lost for words.

I spoke for her, "She watches all of your videos."

"Cool!" he replies. There is an awkward silent in the room until Joe breaks it by saying, "I better go to bed"

"Okay," Emily and I say at the same time.

Joe walks down stairs back into his room. Once I hear the door shut Emily and I begin to talk normally again.

"Smooth," I sarcastically say to Em trying to annoy her.

"How can you be so cool around him? He is like the hottest thing on the planet and one of the funniest people in the world," Emily asks.

I laugh. "You sort of get used to it, I guess," I reply. "Anyway, what's your plan?"

"Okay, well, I have made this a two part plan," Emily continues to talk. "So the plan is:

1. You need to make him be interested in you. (Do the same things that interest him, so you have the same interests.)

2. Get his girlfriend out of the way."

Em then takes a deep breathe before very proudly asking "So, what do you think?"

"Perfect! Just one question, How can I get his girlfriend out of the way?" I wonder.

"Well, you need to make him not like her anymore. You need to make her seem horrid and nasty."

"I don't need to make her seem horrid and nasty because she is already is. So, all I need to do is show Joe what a monster she is."

"Exactly!" Emily says with a big smile on her face.

Em and I continue to talk about the plan until we have everything worked out. After, talking to her I get up, turn the lights out and go to bed.

The Next Morning*

I wake up seeing Zoe in the kitchen making herself breakfast.

"Good morning," Zoe says when she sees my eyes open.

"Morning," I reply. I tiredly get up from the couch and see Zoe is making scrambled eggs and bacon.

"Would you like some?" Zoe asks when she sees me looking at them whilst licking me lips.

"Yes, please," I say.

I talk to Zoe whilst she makes my breakfast. When she finishes making breakfast, we grab our plates and sit at the table. Suddenly, I hear my phone ding meaning I have a text. "Sorry, can I get that?" I ask Zoe.

"Sure," she replies.

I run over to check who it's from. It's from my mum. It says:

Hey sweetie, I hope you're having a great time meeting your internet friend. This afternoon I checked our emails and there was one email from that English university you requested to get into. The email said that your request has been accepted.

Love you, mum.

"OMG," I scream when I finish reading the text.

"What?!" Zoe asks

"I just got accepted to study at a university in London." I excitedly scream.

"OMG, congrats. Does that mean you will be moving here." Zoe says getting even happier.

"YES!!"

Zoe and I finish eating our breakfast and I go back to my phone and text everyone I know to tell them I had got in. Whilst I am doing this, Zoe says, "I will wake up Joe and Caspar so we can do something together today."

"Okay, but can you only wake up Caspar. I would like to tell Joe my good news," I ask.

"Sure," Zoe says happily as she walks down the stairs.

I finish writing another text to one of my friends and I go down stairs to wake up Joe. I walk into Joe's very messy room and see Joe sleeping like a baby. I move toward the bed and whisper, "Good morning Joe."

Joe opens his eyes and replies in a very sleepily way, "Good morning."

"Hey, I have something to tell you," I whisper.

Joe sits up and asks, "What?"

"Well, I got accepted to study at a university in London. That means I will have to live here."

Joe looks at me in a very serious face and then asks, "Are you serious?"

"Yes," I reply.

His serious face turns into a smile and says, "That's AMAZING!!"

Before I can say anything Joe gives a big hug me. Then, he looks at me in a way a boy has never looked at me before. He purses.

"And you're amazing," he whispers to me and then pulls me into a kiss.
