Words in bold are lyrics to Charlie Puth's "Dangerously."
Something about Brendan was a risk. He was 4 years older than me. I loved him, he loved me. But my parents, they thought something else. They told me I couldn't see Brendan. They claimed he was a bad influence. How do you let the person you love know you can't see them again? I knew I had to.
"This is gonna hurt, but I blame myself first, cuz, I ignored the truth. Drunk off of that love, my heads up, there's, no forgetting you."
The night I told Brendan I couldn't see him anymore, we both had wet eyes and were clinging to each other like our lives depended on it. "Please don't do this. I can prove to them I'm the best person for you." he whispered, clinging to me. "I have to go, Bren. I love you." I told him and gave his wet cheek a kiss, and then leaving my love. He wasn't the same. His gameplay was off. It wasn't exactly rocket science. He no longer was the annoying pest who stood in front of the net, with the big smile on his face. He was the one teammates had to stand up for. He was trying to get himself knocked out. He looked lifeless, his bright eyes now pale. The night I turned 20, something changed. I had to see Brendan. I put my clothes in a bag and drove to my best friends house. I pulled up and knocked as I walked in. "I'm going to see Brendan."

We waited for the game to end, and once it ended I drove to Brendan's house about 10 minutes away. I thought about what I would say when he saw me. When I pulled up, I rummaged through my purse for the key to his apartment I had, knowing he wasn't home. I walked in and sat on the couch on my phone waiting for Brendan to come home. He finally came about 15 minutes later. He didn't notice me until I spoke up. "Phew. If you didn't come sooner I would have had to get up to find a charger for my phone, and we all know how much I hate getting up." his eyes widened and he ran up to me. He picked me up and spun me around and I giggled as he set me down. "What are you doing here?!" he asked, stunned.
"I loved you dangerously, more than the air that I breathe."
"I love you Brendan. I'm 20 years old today. I can't let my parents make the biggest decisions of my life for me." I told him and he leaned down to kiss me. "I knew you'd come back for me." he told me. "I couldn't stay away."
"Knew we would crash at the speed we were going, didn't care if the explosion ruined me. Baby I loved you dangerously."I encourage you to listen to Dangerously by Charlie Puth! I'm seriously addicted, and I love Charlie.
