My one and only/ and Erei fanfic

Chapter 8

(Just so you know, I did a little time skip so it's still Levi's POV, but it's from where the last part I left off with Eren's POV, where he's cryin on the sea floor.)

Levi's POV:

I looked at Eren as he was looking at me, a tiny bit of hope in his eyes after what I said about him might being able to see his family. I swam towards him, and picked him up carrying him to the carriage. To be honest, I wasn't mad at him for trying to run away. I would've done the same if I where him. I got in the carriage, and sat in the seat, laying him down so his head was in my lap. I played with his hair as he fell asleep on our way home. Suddenly, I had to cough. This was weird/bad for a few reasons. 1: I never get sick. 2: it wasn't a normal small kind of cough, it was one of those coughs that seemed to tear your throat apart. And 3: when merpeople have their mates, they normally can't get sick.

I held in my cough the beta I could though,not wanting to wake Eren up. Suddenly though, he sat up, rubbing his eyes, and looking at me.

"Levi, are you okay?"

"Hmm?"

I hummed in response, not wanting to cough in front of him, which would most likely cause him to catch whatever it is I have.

"Well, I don't know why, but my birthmark on my arm started tingling, and I felt as if something was wrong. What's up?"

I was about to mumble a "m'fine", but once I opened my mouth, I let out a few giant coughs, causing my throat to sting slightly. Eren looked at me in concern, which made my heart swell. Maybe, just maybe he'd love me the way I love him. Then, the carriage stopped. Some one opened my door, and I looked to see Petra.

"Welcome back sir, I see the mission was a success."

"Excuse me, but I don't think Levi can talk, he has a bad cough and I think I saw a bit of blood." Said Eren. Which surprised me. He did seem genuinely concerned.

"Of course, I'll get Hanji."

I nodded, and tried to get out of the carriage, only to fall on the sea floor, grimacing as I started to cough again. Eren immediately came to me, and was sitting on the ground next to me, holding me in his lap. I coughed harder, my head pounding. Soon, I couldn't take it, and saw black. I heard someone yelling and instantly knew who it was. Right before I black out, I mumbled, "oh shitty glasses...."

Eren's POV:

      I watched as Levi fell from the carriage, and I immediately got up and sat next to him, pulling him into my lap to make sure that he was okay. When Levi first took me, not only did I hate him, but I believe I was more....oh, I don't know, afraid. I mean, I was just kidnapped from my home by a complete stranger who took me into the sea, and then I found out he was a fucking merman! I mean, what do you expect. But suddenly, the memory from when I tried to run away after Levi saved me from Erwin.

Flash
I remember looking up at him hopefully after he'd said I might be able to see my family. The one thing I remember the most though, was after that. He had sat down next to me, looking up, and said in a strained voice.

"Eren, I.....I'm sorry. I know this isn't what you wanted, but....I love you Eren. I know you night never love me back, but....well, we're soul mates. Please, at least try? We can even ,aye go on dates, take it slow....I just...Eren please don't ever leave me."

At the last part, he had burst into tears, and I hugged him. And it wasn't a weird hug that you just wanna make them feel better so you don't feel weird. No, it was a real, sincere hug. And I had felt the birthmark on my arm tingling.

Flash

I looked up when I heard yelling. I saw the girl, Petra I believe it was, chasing after another mermaid, no had a light green tail with blue splatter it seemed. Her long brown hair was in a loose ponytail, and she had glasses, which where kept on her face with straps. I heard Levi mutter something like, 'shitty glasses'.
She swam up to us.

"Hi! You must be Eren! IM SO PLEASED TO MEET YOU!!"

I jumped at the loudness of her voice.

"Uh, y-yeah, that's me. W-what's wrong with Levi?"

I asked, turning my head to the side. She squealed.

"OH MY GOSH YOURE JUST LIKE A LITTLE PUPPY ITS SO CUTE NO MATTER LEVI LOVES YOU!!!"

Again, I jumped,a no I hear Petra giggle.

"Hanji-Senpai (anyone get that reference?) calm down, you're making him anxious. And, how is Levi?"

I blushed, and looked down. She bent over, and started observing. She got back up, and looked at me.

"I'll have to take him to the infirmary, to look closer."

I nodded. Honestly, I did feel worried about Levi as some nurses picked Levi up, and took him away on a stretcher. Before following, Hanji stopped, and looked at me.

"Hey Eren. Do you think I could pick you up later to do some experiments?"

"U-uh, s-sure, I guess." I muttered.

"OH MY GODH THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'll pick you up at eight!"

At the last part she was swimming away, after the nurses carrying Levi. I turned, and Petra showed me back to Levi's room. I payed down on the bed, covering myself with the black blanket. I payed to the side. Suddenly, I felt tears threatening to come out. In front of me was the leather chair Levi was sitting in when I first woke up here. I mean, yea he kidnapped me and all, but....I...I think I'm starting to.....love him.
