Chapter 2: Hospital Visit
While on the plane dad and I didn't talk much. We both felt super nervous, and worried to see my mother. When we arrived in London, we jumped in a taxi and it took us to the hospital. As soon, as we arrived we rushed to find my mother. The nurse told us she was in room 106. We took the elevator and ran down the hall. There laid my mother with all kinds of tubes coming out of her. I completely lost it, I started screaming and crying. The nurse told us she was "brain dead" and the tubes were the only thing keeping her alive. My dad didn't seem to be doing to well either. We must've sat there for hours, just waiting for her to move or say something, but she never did. A few days later my mother died. My dad and I went back home to the U.S. and I went back to school. Being a freshmen isn't easy, but being a freshmen who's mother just died is really not easy at all. My grades were awful, I was failing. My dad had me talk to the school counselor every day, but that wasn't helping. I pretty much thought my life was a failure. One day though at school, this guy accidentally bumped into me, and my books were scattered across the floor. He picked them up and introduced himself as Henry. I instantly had a crush on him and we continued to talk.
