Raindrops

I look up and open my mouth

The rain, it falls down

From drops to waves

Water is water and water is rain

Raindrops on my tongue

The water hits where my words begun

Clouds in the sky covering the sun

Disappointment inside

But in the rain I find fun

I look down and shut my mouth

Reflections in the puddles forming at my feet

A distorted reflection of nature

And then I see me

Black bags and hair that's shagged

Clear loss of sleep

I'm washed up, almost drowned

By my own feelings and dreams

Maybe that's why I find comfort in water

A distraction for me from reality's slaughter

Raindrops falling upon me
