He looks at me puzzled.
"Everything okay, Alexis?" He asks in concern. I blink.
"Yeah, sure. Why?" I say, nervous out of my damn mind.
"You look- worried or something."
"Worried? No, no. I'm not worried." I wave my hand. "Why would I be worried? I'm with the most cutest guy in school." I giggle.
He grins and gives me this look. Some look I can't really explain.
"Want me to show you something?" He asks, with his voice lower than before.
"Sure." I agree. I mean, it's not a huge deal.
"Come on," He starts to get up out his chair.
"Wait, wait, hold your horses, cowboy. Brianna is preforming in a few." I reject for a second. We just got here. Why should we be leaving? He sighs and takes a seat.
Cleo, one of the most popular girl in the school, takes a prance near us. I sigh and lower my head. Why is she coming our freaking way? I hate her. Almost every girl in the school does.
Wait, but near her I see Arnold. Arnold? What is he doing with Cleo?
"Hello, gents and germs." She greets. Ugh.
I say nothing but turn my head. But, Charles on the other hand, has no problem getting out his seat to say something.
"Cleo," He says. "Your looking good tonight."
I turn my head towards her. Glittery pink ball dress? Ew. So not true. Charles approaches Cleo, who looks like a stalk of grass to a tiny ant.
He gives her a dazzling smile and a delicate hand shake. She scoffs. "I know I do. Thank you for your flattery."
I roll my eyes and fold my arms in the chair. This is ridiculous. Everyone knows Charles has tried to be with Cleo for the passed year or so. Down from over ten rejections, he still hasen't given up. I guess Cleo doesn't take the fourth best. Yet, looking over at Arnold, a school geek, I guess she takes the four-hundredth best.
Arnold gives me a friendly wave.
I lower my brow as Cleo and Charles have small talk.
"Your with her?" I mouth to the poor sap.
He nods eagerly, tilting his glasses as he does so. After adjusting them, he points to Cleo. "She asked me out." He mouths back, grinning from cheek to cheek.
This isn't right. Cleo's up to something here. Arnold to prom? That seems a little jacked up.
"I see you've taken Arnold to prom." I tune back in as Charles takes a look at Arnold to her side.
Cleo laughs. "Yep. He's such a sweet heart." She giggles.
Arnold's attention quickly lurks back on Cleo. I look back over at my date, who, doesn't look to happy about this. My time to turn this around.
"Well, it's great that your with me, right, Charles?" I say, hopping out my seat gracefully, and yanking at Charles's arm. He glances at me, then back at Arnold. "Yeah. I guess so."
I smile and look over at Cleo, who's giving me mean glares. For a second I'd even thought she'd lick her tongue out at me.
"Well, it's nice seeing you here with someone," Cleo says referring to me.
"Dido." I respond. I roll my eyes. "Come on, Charles," and I start back at my seat.
Cleo grabs Arnold and prances off. I turn to the table, just to see Brianna and Logan making there seats. "Finally. Your here." I say. "Cleo just stopped by." I say with a disgusted face.
