I opened the door to our apartment with two Starbuck's coffees in my hands, and saw Phil with his back to me, making a video. I quietly closed the door and slipped my shoes off, being careful to stay out of the shot. I set the mochas down on the counter and sighed, leaning back against the wall.

It was unfair how cheery and happy Phil was. I wished I could be like that, living without a care in the world. I hated putting on a facade for YouTube. I didn't want to be this fake Dan anymore. I wanted that happiness and joy to be real, but I knew I couldn't unless I did the one thing that's held me back.

I knew I would have to tell Phil how I truly felt about him.

I waited in the kitchen until Phil was finished filming and I handed him his coffee.

"Tyler texted me while you were gone, by the way. He's coming over for a collab video on Wednesday."

A wave of jealousy instantly washed over me. I just remembered that Tyler was going to arrive in London tomorrow to do a live show.

"Oh, okay. What are you going to do in the video?"

As much as I didn't want to, I pasted on a fake smile so Phil wouldn't see how jealous I was that Tyler would be spending the day with him.

"We're going to eat Miracle Berries!" Phil said with a ridiculous grin.

"What the hell are Miracle Berries?!"

"You'll see!"

Phil took my hand and pulled me into the living room.

"Let's play Mario Kart!"

I blushed when he grabbed my hand, but I willingly followed him. He really wasn't making this easy. I didn't even know what to think anymore. We sat on the couch, only a few feet away, and started playing. I couldn't help but look at him. His perfect hair and stunning blue eyes were one thing, but his bright and bubbly personality was something I just couldn't understand.

I finished last place in the Grand Prix and Phil seemed pretty concerned. "Hey Dan, you okay? Usually you end up winning!"

Phil turned off the tv and turned to face me on the couch. "You seemed pretty distracted, is there something going on?"

At that moment, all I wanted to do was break down and cry. "Oh, umm, I'm fine. I guess I'm just tired."

Phil just smiled and got up off the couch. He patted my shoulder and headed off to his bedroom.
"Good night Dan!"
