oneJihoon sighed, pulling himself up the great staircases from his final class to the library. Each day was the same since he started at Hogwarts; at the end of his classes he'd go straight to the library to study for however long it took and he'd only stop for dinner. He liked the library; it was quiet and peaceful and so extensive you could get lost in it easily. Besides, there was no use trying to study in Ravenclaw. Even though most were normally studying, there couldn't be a day without some ridiculously long debate going on in the Ravenclaw common room, and let's just say the Ravenclaws weren't the most civilised of people when they were told they were wrong.
Jihoon trailed through the library to his usual desk. He got his books out on the desk and put his bag on the chair out of habit; he'd started doing it when he first started coming to the library so that no one would take his chair, but the action seemed pointless now, seeing how no one had come to sit on the same desk as him in the past 5 years. Well, not since a Gryffindor decided to once in 2nd year and wouldn't shut up to the point where Jihoon may or may not have had to jinx him so he could finish his defence against the dark arts essay that was due the next morning. From then on, his fierce temper was known throughout the school and no one dared to disrupt him whilst he was working, for fear that they would be jinxed too or even hexed.
Reading through his notes, he remembered some resources he'd been told to use and went off into the library to find them. He wandered amidst the shelves of books that towered above him and smiled to himself. Out of all the things in his life there were few things that he loved doing as much as learning. It made him feel so lucky that he was able to access so much knowledge, that he could change the world and make something of himself by working hard. He knew he was a nerd, as his friends Soonyoung and Mingyu liked to remind him almost daily, but if he was honest he couldn't care less. He soon found what he was looking for and made his way back to his desk. He turned the corner out of the aisles between the shelves and was slightly startled when he noticed a figure sitting at his desk.
He was a tall boy, taller than Jihoon anyway, with a mop of black hair laid on his head. He held his head in his hands, peering into a large book with his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. If Jihoon was being honest, he really didn't know what to think or how to react to this. No one ever came to sit with him. No one. And he liked it- he liked the solitude and it was a very well known fact amongst his peers that he preferred to study alone. So, why was this boy here? Was he new? Jihoon hadn't seen him before, but then again Hogwarts was a big place so that might not be particularly surprising. Did he want something from Jihoon? Maybe he just didn't realise this was Jihoon's desk-god knows how but maybe he missed the memo. As much as he wanted to debate in his head why on earth this boy was here, a voice in the back of his head said just forget it, you've got work to do, you'll just have to ignore him.
Hesitantly, he walked back over to the table with his books until he reached his seat. The boy hadn't moved an inch or even noticed Jihoon was there. Jihoon went to place his books down on the table quietly, deciding the boy seemed to be genuinely studying and it wasn't fair to disturb him, but he managed to mess it up royally and his books went crashing down onto the table. The boy jumped slightly and looked straight up to Jihoon, who was cringing at the loud noise the books had made. Jihoon could feel his face washing over in a bright shade of red and kept his eyes down, trying his hardest not to look at the boy, as he rearranged his books and sat at the desk.
He tried quickly to recover from his slight mishap, and started preparing his books so he could start writing out his notes. As he worked, however, he had this uneasy feeling of being..watched. Originally, he shook it off, convincing himself that no one was watching and that he was just feeling nervous because he had practically thrown his books onto a desk in an, otherwise, quiet library. But even though he tried his best to ignore it, he still felt like there were eyes on him and it stopped him from focussing. He looked up to survey the area, so he could confirm no one was watching him and start working properly. As he lifted his head up, however, he saw the boy in front of him drop his head quickly down to return looking at his book. Jihoon frowned at the boy. So, it's him?, he thought to himself, feeling slightly agitated, what does this kid want from me anyways?
