I checked my phone 2:30. Matthew would be home in about 30 mintues. Some how he always managed to be home by 3:00 right on the mark. "Mrs. Jennings I'm making grilled chicken with alferdo noodles and a side of asparagus. Is that okay with you?" asked Mrs Underwood Matthew's cook, maid ,and one of my closest friends. "I'm Grace to you Mrs. Underwood. And that's perfectly fine with me." I answered gently. She nodded and went to the kitchen. Mrs Underwood is in her early fifties she's been working for Matthew's family since she was 23. So she knows Matthew better than anyone. I went upstairs to apply some more masacara I had the worst habit of rubbing my eyes. I walked back down stairs and checked my phone once again. 5 mintues and Mathew would be here. I put my phone on silent and set it on the coffee table. Matthew hated having cell phones at the dinner table. I heard the door open and Matthew came in. I walked over him carefully trying to not trip over anyting. "Hi honey. How was work?" I asked taking his coat and putting it on a hanger and then in the closet. Matthew wrapped is arm around my waist. "Well sweetheart it was boring as always. But I'm happy to be home. Let's go to the study. I want to hear about your day." He said. We got to the study and he sat down on his leather chair. He patted his leg motioning for me to sit on his lap. I hate sitting on his lap it makes me feel like a child. But I also love it because I feel comfort and protected. However cheesy that may sound. I sat on his lap and he twirled my hair around on his finger. "So sweetiepie spill. What did my beautiful wife do today?" He asked grinning. "Well I went shopping with Nicole. She's always good company. I bought a new cardagin, scarfes of course, some jeans and skirts, a few dresses, a couple pairs of high heels, some blouses, and some just plain graphic t-shirts. She bought some lingerie for her and Blake's anniversary." He laughed at that. "She doesn't keep anything from you does she?" He asked. "Nope. I hear it all. Well so does she so it works out." I said. He laughed " You know sometimes somethings should be private." He smirked. "Well nothing is kept private with me and Nicole. That's for sure. But I like that. It keeps lunch conversations quite interesting." I said smiling. After telling Matthew about the rest of my day he told me about his and how much he disliked some people that work for him. Including his new manager. Well his new department manger. Matthew hates people who cling to their new bosses. This new manager included. We ate dinner then went to the living room and watched an episode of Castle. We both love this show. After the episode, I looked at Matthew and said "Don't ruin my story with logic!" He started laughing. "I wouldn't dream of it honey." He said grinning. I laughed. We spent the rest of our night watching Castle reruns and eating ice cream. We fell asleep in each others arms just like every night. I really love my life. I thought before falling asleep. I never want things to change.
Well that's the first chapter. I personally love Castle so I hope you liked the quote if you know what I'm talking about. If you've never seen Castle I highly suggest watching it! The song is I could die a happy man by Thomas Rhett. My chapters will most likely improve in length.
