Chapter 6- Surprise

Hellooo!Long time,no talk right?Soo...Is anyone reading this 'cause I don't know if I should continue it or not.I know it's a super small chapter but the end is intriguing.Nothing more to say here.

Dear diary,

Despite everything that's happened yesterday,I know that today is going to be different.Now I know most of the truth.And it's enough to discover the rest of it.And I will.I have no time to lose.It just feels like it's my duty to find out everything.And I want to know everything.

I closed my diary in which I had written the night before as well and went downstairs to have breakfast.Wendsday is a boring day I had nothing to do besides figuring everything out.I already had a plan to find the truth.I knew it was not going to be easy but I had to do it.

I heared different voices whispering and sometimes laughing loudly and as I was heading downstairs, the noise was getting louder..I was near the kitchen door when I saw Kyle and dad sitting at the table and probably discussing about me or how his perfect life in California is.My brother was eating toast with some peanut butter and jelly and my dad was eating waffles.I looked for my mom and I saw she was baking some eggs.Those are probably for me,I thought.

"Look how's awake!"said Kyle with a wide smile on his face.

"Yeah, hi."I replied.

I was wondering if I should keep distance or be friendly to Kyle.

"Did you wake up at the wrong side of the bed Jade?"he said with a funny face

Oh come on,I can't act like this with my brother.

"Kyle!"I shouted and ran to hug him.He immediately started laughing loudly

"There's my little monkey!"he shouted back

"Uh,I really missed you Kyle!I can't believe you're back! What did you get me? Ah, how's California?"

"Jade?"

"What?"

"Take a deep breath and listen."

"Ok"I answered laughing louder than before

He instantly hugged me tight and then showed me what he had brought me.I got a waterproof camera and it was orange, my favourite colour.

"Awww,you know me too well brother!"And I hugged him again.

"Jade, come eat something with us darling."mom said

"Yeah, sure.Can I help you with the eggs?"

"It's okay,love"

"So dad, what have I missed?"

"Me and Kyle were just talking about photographers."

"We were talking about supermodels as well, haha"Kyle joked

"Okay sir, not too fast"I giggled

"I heared you have a boyfriend."my brother said with a cheeky smile

"Funny because I heared you also had a girlfriend..."

"Uh...."he was nervous

"Really?"dad asked intrigued

"Ugh...Yeah..Her uhhh...her name was..."

"What was her name?" mom asked

"Amy.."

"Really? Was she a model?"I asked trying to find out more

"She was in holiday.And we went out a couple of times and she had to leave.But it didn't really mean anything."

"Really? And how old was she?"dad asked

"She was my age"

His age? Could it be possible?

"And what happened to her?"

"She is a dancer now."

As I was entering the room, the black shadow was getting bigger and bigger until I saw Kyle lying on the bed and talking to someone on the phone.All I could hear was whispering and mumbling.After I made sure he had finished the call,I went to sit on the couch near the entrance.

"Oh hey Jade,I didn't hear you coming."

"Sorry,I just wanted to ask you if you can drive me to school."

"Sure. "

We went to the garage and he drove me to school.We didn't talk much but

"So...uh..See you at lunch?"Kyle said

"Um...Sure!See you then"
