Those Six Months In AU

Chapter 4

Maha,Sania and Nympha had already left the University ,but I was still there.As I mentioned earlier that I had not taken taxi for commune since beginning and that it had a story in itself, and yes this is it. In the beginning I had taken the bus service of this University because it had charged me 13k for six months only.My cousin, I talked about , had also taken this service. Our families were in the same boat regarding financial crisis and this bus service was a convenient option for us since it was really cheap.

Me : Where are you?

I texted her.

Sidra : I am sitting on the stairs of ltc,come here.

I rushed towards her and finally caught up with her. Sidra and I had studied the last 10 years together in the same school and in the same class. We had become so close that we didn't feel like making any other friend.She was my kindred spirit and so I was of hers.This was the first time we had gone for different fields.Although we were in the same university yet things were not the same as before.

"Hello!Finally you are here",she hugged me tight saying this.

The smiles on our faces widened as if we were seeing each other after ages.We sat down on the hot stairs and started our random chatter.

"How was your day?",I asked her.

"It was just ok.Yours?

" Mine too.It wasn't that good.I feel exhausted.Do you know which bus we are supposed to take?",I asked her.

"Three of the buses are already gone and there is only one more",she told me.

"Only one more!What do you mean?",I asked her shockingly.

"Our beloved university has only four buses for thousands of students",she replied with an exasperating tone.

"What?Are you serious?No way?Only four?",I asked so many questions in just one breath.

"Yes, sweetheart."

"Look the bus is coming",I said pointing towards it.

"Pile in! Pile in!" , many students from behind shouted and ran towards it. It was already looking more than jam-packed and all of them were also getting on it madly.

"Come on! get up now",Sidra said standing up from the stairs.

"Where are we gonna sit?or stand?",I asked her terrified of the crowd.

"Lets see",she moved on.People were pushing one another to get on the bus and we weren't familiar of such illiterate street skills. We were still standing outside the bus.

"Jump on! ",the conductor said to us.

"Come on or we'll miss it and there is hardly any taxi available somewhere near here that we can take", she said getting onto it.I was still looking at the crowd and trembling.

"Give me your hand",she said extending it. I took her hand and climbed on the bus.There was hardly any space in the bus to even stand.Seats were all filled and it felt like hell.It was burning.

"Stop!Stop! ",a guy came running after it and mounted it breathing heavily.I was standing right on the front and he stood behind me.It was so congested that the conductor was half outside and half inside.
