Hospital Bed (Short Story)

Hospital Bed

...sitting on his hospital bed and staring across the room, thinking what will happen if he suddenly died.

As he thought about life he suddenly remember a fight he had with he's girlfriend, thinking about that he lost hope of her visiting him.Hours past while he was still thinking about his girlfriend while sitting straight on his hospital bed.

A sudden knock on the door caught his attention which was suddenly shaken off knowing it might be a daily nurse check up. The door opened and to his surprise was his beloved girlfriend. The look on his eyes was filled with misbelief until it fade to sorrow. While his girlfriend went walking to him with a worried face he suddenly broke in tears saying

"I thought you would never visit me! I lost hope.. I just can't forgive myself! I-"

his girlfriend interrupted and said

"it's alright babe! All that matters is that you're still alive. I was soo worried! When I heard the news I was soo scared!" With a worried face and teary eyes her boyfriend wipe her tears and kisses her on the forehead and replied "I'm sorry babe.. I thought you would hate me until my death"

She replied"I should be sorry babe! If I hadn't over reacted you wouldn't have gonna yourself in an accident just to forgive me!"In her eyes you could tell she was soo deep in despair and worried

"Babe" he replied "you know you're important to me right? I would do anything to keep us together and me driving to your house to forgive you was just to keep us from breaking apart from our argument"

She then replied "But! But.."

Interrupted by her boyfriend putting his hand on her cheeks he then said  "I'll be alright"

with a gentle smile he continued "you being on my side makes me strong"

Hours of sharing jokes and a conversation, it ended when they both slept. With her sitting beside him laying her head on the bed, they slept until the morning.

As she woke up

she said with a silly smile "Goodmorning sleepy head!" But she realize something on her hand, a letter. As she opened it up she was shocked! It was from her boyfriend, which is right In front of her, Lifeless. She rushed and called the nurses aloud

as she watch the nurses trying to revive him she opened the letter with teary eyes.

What's written on the Letter was "Hi beautiful! I forgot to tell you that I only had hours to live. But at least I got to see you again and that's all I wanted! I wasn't hoping you would visit me last night cause of our argument.. But I was wrong! You visited me and that's all I wanted before I died, to be with you. I love you forever. Death can't stop me from loving you, my sweet beautiful girlfriend-"

Tears flowing down her eyes, as she continues to read something suddenly drop on the floor, It was a ring, she then hurried to continue reading "...the day before I got in an accident, was the day I wanted to ask you to be my wife."

Falling on her knees, She bursts into tears.
