Chapter 1

 Reunion

                “Where is my date,” Pouted Zoe. “He’s already 20 minutes late…” 

Zoe began to cry and her big sky blue eyes started to turn red. She quickly wiped the tears away when she heard someone leaving the building she was standing in front of. Zoe tried to look away but with her curiosity she just had to look at what the man was doing and what he looked like. He was very tall with blonde hair, beautiful hazel eyes and an adorable face. “Aw man, that is one cute piece of meat.”   She thought to herself. She looked twice and noticed he looked a bit recognizable but ignored it because she’s in a place she’s only been in once.  Here in Michigan where the winters are freezing and the summers are hot, there she was, standing there crying in the rain because she was stood up.

                “Excuse me? Are you waiting for someone?” A voice was heard behind Zoe and she turned around to see that it was the man with the hazel eyes.

“I- uh…I’m waiting for someone but they a-“

“ZOE?!”

“How do you know my name?”

“It’s me! Alex. Don’t you remember me?”

“No… Not really.”

                Alex grabbed her and hugged her right away.

“Oh my god, you have no clue how much I missed you.”

“Oh… NOW I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!”

                Zoe tried to pull away and she didn’t want to see him. She wasn’t strong enough so she just stood there being squeezed by a person she hasn’t seen in 10 years.

“Alex? What are you doing?!” Screamed a female voice exiting the building.

Zoe finally managed to pull away from Alex.

“Uh, hi honey… this is Zoe. We’re old friends.” Explained Alex

“Old friends, huh? The way you were hugging her made it seem like you were more than friends.”

“No-“

Zoe blurted out, “Hi! My name’s Zoe what’s you-“

“I know what your name is, stupid. He just told me. My name is Claire. And I’m Alex’s fiancée.”

“Nice…Will I be invited to the wedding?” Zoe joked

“That’s a definite no. Thank you, but we will be leaving now.”

“Uh…Well nice meeting you, Claire. Goodbye, Alex.”

Claire gripped Alex’s jacket and tugged him away. Alex could tell Zoe was hurt but Claire’s grip was so strong that he couldn’t go back. Zoe watched as Alex looked back now and then as they walked down the street. She was sad that she had to see him again. After what happened between them she never wanted to see him again, but yet, she felt happiness inside her when he hugged her. Zoe called her best friend, Sami, to come pick her up. Zoe didn’t say anything the whole ride; Sami knew something had happened. When they reached home and made it in the house Zoe began to tell the whole story about what happened.

“It felt like something from a movie, meeting my old friend from so long ago…” Said Zoe

“You’re right! It does seem like a movie. Weird.”

“I hope this is the last time we’ll ever see each other again.”

“Well what if you guys see each other at the mall? Or Target?”
