"Sydney!" My cousin/best friend, Christina, sang as she walked into my room.

"Hello!" I sang back.

"Okay, so you gotta promise me something and can't back out."

"What is it?"

"Alright, so I have a friend and he's like in love with you and has been for like forever now. So, I was thinking that you two could go on a date tonight. Plus, he's really cute too."

"Do I know him?"

"Yes."

"Who is it?"

"First, answer this. Will you go on a date with him?"

"Sure, why not?"

"And you swear you won't change you mind."

"I won't."

"Awesome. It's Marcel Styles."

"The nerd?!"

"Yup! But trust me, he's super nice and he REALLY likes you."

"Fine!" I sighed.

"Look cute because he's got a surprise for you."

"What is it?"

"It won't be a surprise if I tell you."

"You're lucky I love you, Christina." I laughed.

She rushed over to my wardrobe and picked out a bustier, a vest, high waisted shorts, and gladiator heels.

"You're wearing this, Sydney."

"Okay." I laughed.

After I got dressed and straightened my hair, I went downstairs and found a hot guy with curly hair sitting on the couch, talking to Christina.

"Hi?" I greeted.

"H-Hey, Sydney." He responded as he blushed.

"You two have fun on your date." Christina chimed in.

She rushed us out of the house, then we went to dinner and talked a bit.

"So, Marcel, I hear you like me."

"I-I do."

"Don't be shy, Love. Tell me...why?"

"Well you're so pretty and nice and I love your hair."

I blushed at the hair compliment because most people deemed my hairstyle unusual since I have a buzz cut on one side of my head and the other side is long.

"You like my hair?"

"I love it. It's so different." He said with a smile.

"Thank you."

We talked and got to know each other more during the date and after dinner, we walked around town hand-in-hand.

"Wow, Marcel, you're amazing." I gushed.

"Really?"

"Yup."

"Most people just take me as a nerd."

"So what if you're a nerd? People take me for many things too."

"At least we see each other for who we really are."

"Exactly. And I know Christina's going to be so glad that this went so well."

"She's a really great friend."

"That's my cousin." I said with a gentle smile.

When we got back to my house, he walked me to my door, then kissed me and in the middle of the kiss, Christina opened the door, then shrieked in joy.

"You two are dating now!" She screamed as she jumped in place.

"We-" Marcel began.

"Yeah, we are." I said as I pulled him in for a kiss.

We laughed as Christina dragged us inside and pried us for details on the date.
