Tick Tock Goes the Clock

The night ended far to soon for the depressed girls. Today was the day, that they would have to watch their own daughter take her last breath.

During the previous day, the doctor clarified that there was absolutely no brain activity shown on the scan.

The girls were not prepared for this, no matter how many times they sat down, discussing her funeral. Elena being alive is what kept the girls together for so long.

They didn't worry about her dying, or so they didn't think about it that often. But, they were waiting for her to wake up.

They didn't know what they would do if she woke up, or how she would react. The accident was considered to be suicide, although everyone just thought it was a stimulus.

The reason being, she was trying to get away from the girls. She wasn't focusing on being safe. She wanted to get away. So her body didn't react to checking to see if a car was coming.

Fortunately, the car tried to stop, so she didn't get killed. If the car had kept going, it would have been implied as a hit and run.

The haunted girls walked down the lonely steps to Jesy's car. Not one of the girls ate, for they were feeling an odd pain in the bottom of their empty stomachs.

Eating would cause more pain, and they were not ready to take that on yet. Jamie kept quiet as she studied the girls mood.

They were all distant and in shock state. Do you know the feeling of being in shock? For example, one morning you wake up tired. You'd spent the previous day with your grandparents.

You walk into your kitchen, and found one of your parents crying. You wonder what is wrong, and when you ask, they tell you that one of your grandparents died.

That is shock. You feel as though it didn't happen. You feel as if you are in a living dream, and this one just seems more realistic.

Jesy started her way to the hospital, she didn't pay attention to anything but the road.

Sitting next to Jamie was Perrie. She was starring out of the glass window, at the dark sky.

It's funny how much the dark sky reflected their mood. The rain would be here soon, and ever since she was little, Jamie loved the rain.

She loved to watch as it poured down the windows in drops that seemed to be racing each other. She loved how dark it was outside, yet it was still daytime.

And most of all, she loved how fresh the air felt in her lungs the day after it rained. It was her favorite thing.

Jamie soon saw the hospital, they were approaching it at a dull pace. The car stopped in an empty parking space and they all got out.

They walked up to Elena's room, where the doctor was scheduled to arrive at in 2 hours. Perrie, and Jesy were standing at the front of the bed, Leigh beside Jade and Jamie was standing by herself at the foot of the bed.

They stood and watched the younger girl. They never wanted to let her die, their intention of adopting her, wasn't to kill her.

This made them upset that no matter what, they couldn't take back their mistakes. It killed them. After today, they would have no reason to live.

Except for Jamie, that's what they had left. Jamie was also getting older, in 2 years she would be getting her drivers license. She would leave them too eventually, for college, to start her own life.

Little did they know, Jamie wasn't planning on that, she wanted to stay with them and keep them safe, and happy.

What hurts the most for the girls is that time can't always fix things.

Time rolled around with multiple break downs, dozens of tears, and 5 broken hearts. Jamie was hoping that Elena had heard her small speach about her staying, but apparently not.

Each of the five girls had a hope she would survive, but the odds were to slim for the hope to stay.

Jamie wondered if Elena was in another place feeling lonely. For a girl her age Jamie had an imagination and a giant heart.

They were interrupted from the dark thoughts as the doctor came inside the room.

"I'll let you have 5 more minutes with her then we have to let her go." He said with a sad smile. They all nodded, except Jamie, she wasn't ready to let her go. And the saddest part about that is that Jamie doesn't even know her.

"I wish this was just a twisted dream." Jesy said. Her voice was raspy from crying and it cracked as a new set of tears ran down her face.

Leigh wrapped her arm around Jesy's shoulder, trying to sooth the older girl, although she wasn't fine herself.

Jade stood up and kissed Elena on the forehead. Whispering 'I love you' in her ear. The other's followed.

The doctor soon approached the bedside after the 5 minutes were over. He pulled out a clip board and handed it to Jesy.

She signed it, and handed it back to him so that he could continue.

"You all don't have to stay and watch." He said looking at them.

"We want to." Perrie said softly.

He nodded and went back to what he was doing.

'1, 2, 3.' He mouthed.

Everyone in the room were frozen, waiting for the heart monitor to go off.

There was a small count down clock on the lamp stand.

It was down to one minute, one minute before her heart would surly stop beating. The heart monitor was not effected, it wasn't showing any signs of her heart slowing down.
