Behind the Glasses

Chapter 17

*maddie's pov*
I have so many problems it's hard to count. It happened a couple weeks ago... Flash back time!
I decided to go to a party with Kris. It was at Bridget's house. Bridget was one of Kris's friends. She was really sweet and I liked her. I was putting on my party dress when Kris walked in. "Hey you ready?" She asked. I smiled and said, "just a sec." I swiped a last coat of mascara on my eyelashes and slipped on my black chucks. I walked out with Kris to her car. We got there and I saw Gabbie. We went into the house and I realized how big it was. It's was gorgeous. A small chandelier in the dining room and over head lights in the living room. I saw Bridget and she waved the three of us over. She was holding a red solo cup and I looked at it suspiciously. She notice my wary glance and laughed. "Don't worry Maddie," she consoled, "it's just Dr.Pepper." I relaxed and she giggled. "I am so not going to support underage drinking. Promise." She said. I laughed and went to sit on the couch. Kris sat down next to me and handed me a cup of Dr.Pepper. I nodded a thanks and sipped on it. No one was really there yet and we were waiting with Bridget. We were watching Sherlock when a knock sounded from the front hallway. I stood up and walked to the door to see Zach. "Hey babe. I didn't know you were gonna be here!" I said happily. He grinned and wrapped me in a hug. I wrapped my arms around him and let go, guiding him to the living room. Kris hadn't fully forgiven him yet, so she scowled when he walked in behind me. I gave her a reprimanding glance and she looked away. The party got started and I was talking to Gabbie when I heard a scream. Like, bloody murder scream. I ran to where I heard it. I knew that scream. Kris. I saw her blue hair from about 3 yards away. I walked up behind her and got ready to ask her what happened when I saw it for myself.
