Tightening the grip around your bags, you made a face as you entered the room you would be calling yours for the rest of the school year.
The room was shaped like a rectangle, which made it seem really slim.
The first thing you noticed were the white walls, they made it seem like nobody had even bothered to put any color on the wall at all, it wasn't even slightly grey, it was just the plain white color that stung in your eyes and you knew exactly that you were going to put a lot of posters and paintings on the walls to make it look like a valid room.
Closing the door, you put your bags next to the small wardrobe and walked over to the window, from which you could see the school cafeteria.
You made another face and turned away from the window, facing your new room again.
The bed had a plain white blanket and pillows, luckily you had brought your own from home with you.
The desk was standing in front of the window, it was, like every other piece of furniture in your room, made of wood and had a small note laying on it.
Curiously, you picked it up.
'Hello (y/n)(l/n)! At this point, you've found your room and you're probably wondering why everything looks so plain. To tell you the truth, we had a low budget when we wanted to decorate the rooms, so we're leaving it up to you, how you want to decorate your room. If you need a blanket or pillows, come to the secretary's office, they will help you there. We hope you'll have a great time at Hetalia high.' (yes I know the schools in Hetalia au's are always called 'hetalia high' but I couldn't come up with anything new, so until I have a better name, it will stay like this!)
Raising your eyebrow, you put the note aside and walked over to your bags, since you hadn't really started unpacking yet.
Placing your first bag on the bed, you opened it immediately and pulled out your blanket and pillows.
After you had finished preparing your bed, you pushed the plain ones that were on your bed before underneath your bed, just in case you should accidentaly spill something on your own, you could use these.
Putting the first bag away, you opened the second one, which was filled with your clothes.
Just as you were about to open your wardrobe, someone knocked on your door. You prevented yourself from sighing, opened it halfways and poked your head out of the door, only to be greeted with laughter.
Sighing, you opened the door completely and looked at the guy in front of you, hoping he would say something.
The young man that had obviously knocked on your door and was laughing at your facial expression, had short blond hair and had glasses.
After he had stopped laughing, you could see that his eyes were blue, he was also wearing the school's uniform, just like you.
Guessing he might be a new classmate of yours, you held out your hand, waiting for him to shake it.
"Hahaha! Hi, dude, I'm Alfred Jones, but you can just call me Alfred. Nice to meet you.", he smiled at you and shook your hand really quickly, you felt like your arm was being ripped off.
Forcing yourself to smile, you nodded and decided it would be polite to introduce yourself as well.
"I'm (y/n) (l/n). It's nice to meet you too, Alfred.", you said, letting go of your hand.
"So you have just arrived here, right? I'm guessing you don't know anyone apart from me?"
Blinking for a few times, you processed what he just asked you.
He really did talk fast. And loud.
"Yes and no. I've just started unpacking, you see?", you told him, stepping out of the way to show him.
Poking his head through your door, his eyes widened as he saw your window.
"No way! You can see the cafeteria?", he almost shouted, causing you to flinch slightly at how loud his voice was.
You nodded.
You were not happy about that at all, actually.
Sure, food was great, but you didn't want to smell the food of the cafeteria every morning and evening, especially not if you were hungry and they were just cooking it.
"I guess I'll just have to let the air in at night, right?", you joked, causing the American to laugh.
"But still! I already know who I'm going to talk to when I want to know what food they have.", he told you, which made you roll your eyes, but you still smiled.
"So, do you need any help with that?"
Raising your eyebrow, you realized that he was talking about your bags, since he was now walking directly towards them.
As you saw which bag he was about to open, you rushed after him.
"Not that bag!", you shouted and tried to pull it away from him, but it already was too late.
Holding up one of your bras, Alfred blushed madly and slowly put it back into the bag, as he made direct eye contact with you, which made you feel really uncomfortable.
Normally, you definitely would have smacked him, but he honestly didn't know any better.
Still blushing, he pulled out another bag and pulled your posters out.
"No way! You like that band too?", he exclaimed, as he held a poster of your favorite band up.
You nodded, the blush from earlier disappeared from your cheeks.
"I know, they're amazing, aren't they?", you said.
Nodding he looked at you.
"Where should I put this?", he asked, looking around curiously.
"Ah, you don't have to he-", you were just about to tell him you didn't need any help, but he shook his head, making you quiet.
"No. I'm going to help you and that's that. Where should I put that poster?", he asked, it was obvious how stubborn he was.
You quietly pointed to a spot above your bed, still surprised at his interruption. As the time passed, you two had put everything where it belonged.
Thanking him for his help, he had told you his room was two hallways away from yours, telling you you could come to him if you ever needed help.
Sure, he could be obnoxious and loud, but he was also really helpful and optimistic, which made talking to him a bit easier.
Just as Alfred was about to leave, an announcement was made, making him stop in his tracks.
"Hello everyone, this is the principal speaking! I hope everyone has arrived safely and had a great time so far. May I ask everyone to gather in the cafeteria? You will get further information about your classes there. Thanks."
And with that, the announcement ended.
Alfred looked at you for a few seconds, before he grabbed you by your arm."Let's go, (y/n)!"
"Don't pull so hard! It hurts!"
