It was a beautiful Monday. Well to me it was maybe not so much to others. I watched out of the cafe window as the raindrops hit the sidewalks and streets. Business men ran from their work place with their briefcases balanced on their heads.
Couples walked hand in hand down the street while standing under the same umbrella. Every now and then I wonder to myself about the rain. Why did I find it so beautiful? I've hated the rain for years when I was a kid but now I can't stop searching for rain clouds in the sky. I love the rain.
I sipped my cup of coffee as I looked back into the cafe's walls. Not many people were here but the dimmed lights and cozy warm feel of the building surely felt quite relaxing to some people. I heard the slight ring of the little bell hanging above the door signalling that someone had walked into the cafe.
I sneak a peek from the corner of my eye only to see someone standing at the front counter in soaked clothes and muddy shoes. They must be dumb if they think that walking into the rain without an umbrella is a smart move. I turn back into my seat and continue sipping my coffee. My eyes gently close as I listen to the raindrops sadly I was disturbed by the person who had just walked in tapping on my shoulder.
"Excuse me Miss. could I sit with you?" I sighed with a shrug. "Sure I don't see why not." I spoke almost in a whisper. He sat across from me the smell of paint and cologne coming from him. His white t-shirt was basically see through and I guess you could say it'd be hard not to stare but the fact that it's stained with paint makes matters easier.
"I saw you staring out the window a while ago. For a moment I thought you were watching me." His voice spoke with such gentleness that it confused me for a few seconds.
We shared a small conversation with each other and for such a small conversation to make me feel as if I've known this person for all my life. You'ld expect it to seem confusing and strange but in fact it felt comforting and addicting. I learned that his name was Seok Jin and that he was a street artist. The only money he had was through people paying him to create portraits on the outside walls of their shops or clubs. I learned that he lives in and out of hotel rooms and that he would really love for someone to finally except what he does as art and not some dumb scribbles.
I looked at his finger tips to see that they were red but not from paint. His hands must be freezing. Something tells me that I should lean over the table and hold his hands in mine to warm them but then again it seems as if that would spook him a bit.
"What is it? You've been looking at me for quite awhile." I looked away from his hands and stretched my arms. "Do you mind if I see your work someday?" I asked staring out the window. He looked surprised almost like this was the first time someone spoke to him. "S...Sure meet me here tomorrow at 9:45 pm that's the cafe's closing time." I nodded to him with a slight smile before gathering my things and placing a tip underneath my coffee cup.
I began waving goodbye to Jin as I walked past the window that stood where we were sitting. Then continued my walk back home. All of a sudden I felt uncomfortable with my surroundings until, "Jasmine!" I turn to meet Jin running towards me. "Yes?" "Allow me to walk you home please?" He asked me while looking around us.
"Could you?" I looked down shivering in fright. It was getting dark out quite quickly and I was becoming scared. Jins arms wrapped around me and a feeling of warmth came over my body. What is this man a human fire place? "I'll keep you safe, don't worry." I looked up to meet his eyes. His right palm rested on my cheek and ever so slowly I couldn't keep my self still. I stood on my tippy toes and pressed my lips to the corner of his mouth.
My umbrella hang over the both of us in Jin's hand now as he had caught it from falling from my grip. When I stepped away he had a look of shock showing on his face. He reached up to his lips and ran his thumb over where I had kissed him on the corner of his mouth.
"Your a very warm person, I've never met someone like you before."I smiled as he looked away from me for a few seconds. After a short moment of silence between the two of us. Jin walked me home to my house. "If you'ld like to come in I could dry your clothes and wash the paint out of your t-shirt?"
Jin watched my lips with wide eyes. "I would love to, but I don't want to..." "You won't!" I interrupted. Holding onto his hands I kissed the corner of his lips for a second time. "I promise."(Pov switch)
When I felt her lips on the corner of my mouth it was so hard not to snap. It felt like I was being teased and something in me just wanted to have her jump up into my arms. I wrapped my hands around her hips and she walked backwards. She stopped kissing the corner of my mouth and now brushed her lips against mine. We were now standing against the wall inside her home. "We just met each other and already your treating me like this. Why?" I asked biting my lip as her hands pulled at my shoulders. "After meeting you today at the cafe. Something about you just caused everything around me to become frightening but then you offered to walk me home and you wrapped me in your arms when I began shaking. Then I felt a warmth flow over my body when you placed your hand on my cheek and you suddenly felt like safety and home."
Hearing these things fall from her lips made me snap but not in a bad and aggressive way, but in a way that made me want to make her mine. I hurriedly slid my coat off and hung it on the coat rack next to us. I slid my hands up her arms and over her shoulders then began to slowly help Jasmine remove her jacket. I hung it next to mine then mad my way back over to her.
Our bodies melted together as she pulled me down to the soft carpeted floor of her living room. Rolling the both of us over so that she was lying on my chest. "I keep trying to tell myself to hold back but its too hard. I need to kiss you." I whined as she snuggled into me. "Then why dont you just kiss me then?"
