"Slam!!"
"Get out of my f**king house, and bring your belongings with you!" Four year old Lexi heard her father shouting at her mother as his fist connected to her jawbone for the third time that night.
This happened almost every night after her father got home from drinking at various bars with his friends. He would just come, barging through the front door heading straight to his bedroom and sometimes,the kitchen. Then he would find some excuse to blame her mother for silly things. Once he hit her with a broom,claiming she moved his watch from it's usual place. Her mother surrendered to the blows, sending Lexi to her room. He found the watch in his drawer later that week. Turns out he was drunk one night when he came home a placed it the wrong place. He didn't even utter a word of apology to his Wife.
Lexi got scared every time he went out and got drunk because it was his normal routine to come home and abuse her mother. She hated that he could just take advantage of her mother like that . What she hated more was that her mother allowed it. It hurts to know what is happening and can't do anything about it. It was from that tender age Lexi made a promise to herself that she would not grow up to be a weak woman. She pledged to herself that No man will ever get the chance to take advantage of her.
