I was abruptly woken by the sound of my alarm clock. I sighed at realization of what today was. The first day back to school. I rolled over and grabbed my phone, pressing the home button. My phone said it was already 7:15 and school started at 8:30. I hopped up and got in the shower. Afterwards, I straightened my long brown hair and put my liquid eyeliner and mascara on. I just had plain brown eyes. They werent anything special. Not sure of what I was going to wear, I darted over to my fairly big closet. I decided to wear my LOVE PINK shirt, skinny jeans, and sparkly black vans. I grabbed my phone, school bag and an apple and I was out the door.
*10 MINUTES LATER*
I pulled into the school parking lot and instantly saw my best friends. There was Jade, Natalia and Shelbi. I stepped out of my Range Rover and got bombarded with hugs. "Oh my gosh. I havent seen you since last weekend! I missed you," Shelbi shouted while hugging me. I laughed and continued to hug the other girls. We walked to the area all the other students were at and started talking. "So guys," I said. "Do we have any classes together? I have Algebra, Biology, Language Arts, Lunch, Art, History and some Technology class." After I finished my sentence, I couldnt help but look around the crowded space and see a geeky looking boy in the corner all by himself. He had really pretty green eyes that I could not stop starring at. He had his hair slicked back and wore nerd glasses. Jade saw my stare and said, "what a nerd, right?" All of my friends looked in his direction and started laughing. All of them excluding me. The bell rang during the midst of their laughs. Relieved, I walked to my first period which was Algebra. Natalia and I had this class together. We both turned into the classroom. The class was half full and all of the students were in their own groups talking and laughing. While everyone was having a good time, I couldnt help but notice the boy that was sitting all by himself earlier. I decided to be nice and started to make my way towards the isolated boy. A slight smile grew on his face as he realized I was walking over to him. As I was half way there, Natalia pulled on my arm and scolded me. "Casey! What are you thinking? Are you crazy? He's a nerd! You CANNOT be associated with him." Listening to what she told me, I turned around. I looked over my shoulder to see his smile was gone. The room fell silent as the new teacher walked in. He gave us instructions to stand against the back wall. We all stood shoulder to shoulder. As the teacher called out students, he came to one student I had never heard of. "Marcel Styles?" I looked to my left to see the geeky boy step forward and go to his new seat. So that was his name. Marcel. It was catchy. I was snapped out of my thinking as the teacher called out the next name. "Casey Mendler?" That was me. I raised my hand and he pointed me to my new permanent seat. The whole class laughed as I took my seat next to the school nerd. Marcel Styles.
