Linnea P.O.V.

Linnea was rushing around her dorm to look for her favorite pair of shoes. She had a mall date with Marcos, and she really did not want to be late. She threw her hair up into a messy bun and checked, rummaging through the bottom of her closet again. There were no shoes.

"Fuck," she muttered under her breath to herself. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed deeply. Standing up, she went to grab a pair of converse, slipping them on her feet and grabbing her phone, running out and down to her car. Marcos wanted to meet her to go look for somewhere to get her something. Linnea had slipped and told him that she hadn't gotten a gift in over a year, including holidays and birthdays.

"I'm going to make your day and surprise give you a present," he'd said, two weeks ago. Still, two weeks, and he hadn't gotten her anything. So, he was taking her to the mall and he said he would buy whatever she wanted as long as it was under his budget of five hundred dollars. Linnea could take advantage of this, but she didn't want to drag him around the mall buying things for her. She let an old Bring Me The Horizon album play loudly as she sped to the mall. She hummed on her way over, calming herself down and getting ready to meet Marcos. She didn't want him to buy her anything, and if he did, she preferred it to be ice cream or a cookie.

As she pulled into the parking lot, she saw the hot tall figure of Marcos, tattoos included. She couldn't tell herself she didn't have feelings for him, but she doubted he had any for her. It was just the way things were. She saw him glance her way when he thought she didn't notice, but she did. Having a guy look at her like that again... It made her happy. But after Luke, she didn't want to feel so emotionally attached to anyone.

She couldn't resist the smile on her face and walked up to meet him.

"Hey," she greeted him, smiling. He smiled and tucked his phone in his pocket.

"Hey Linn," he said back, smiling. Linnea couldn't help looking at his perfect smile. He extended an arm to her and she laughed softly, linking hers in his. "Shall we?" he asked.

"Very gentlemanly," she said, grinning. "We shall." And with that, they walked inside.

"So I don't know about you, but I'm hungry," Marcos said, glancing up at the ceiling. She looked up at the all-window ceiling. It was beautiful.

"I could go for some food," she said. He smiled.

"Good, I hope you like steak," he said, grinning. She already told him she loved steak, so she blushed softly and smiled.

"Are you taking me to an expensive steak place?" she asked. He shrugged dramatically.

"Maybe," he said, grinning to himself. Linnea shook her head, smiling.

"You know you really didn't have to, right?" she asked him.

"I know. But I want to. A beautiful woman like yourself deserves a decent place for lunch," he said casually, but enough to make her blush. "You're so much more beautiful when you blush," he said, making her blush more and hide her face in his sleeve.

"Stoooooop my face is so red," she said. He smiled and leaned down and kissed her head, making her blush even more. "Marcos, PDA," she mumbled.

"Oh, Linnea, you like it, don't deny it," he said jokingly. "You can't resist my charms," he said winking at her when she lifted her head again. She rolled her eyes smiling.

"No one can resist you," she told him. He smiled wider.

                "Really?"

"Of course, you're hot and sweet, a perfect mix," she said. She was still blushing, and his smile grew even bigger.

"I think you're describing yourself," he said. She smiled and giggled softly.

"Just be quiet and lets go eat," she said, laughter in her voice. He chuckled and led her to the restaurant and they were seated in a booth, handed menus, and asked what they wanted to drink. "I'll have a strawberry lemonade," she said.

"A regular lemonade," he said. The waiter left and Linnea looked back to the menu and bit her lip, trying to decide between a steak meal or a steak dish. "Linnea, I want to say something," he said, sounding serious. She looked up at him. "I really like you. And by like, I mean I think I might be falling in love with you," he said, looking extremely nervous.

Linnea smiled wide and giggled softly. He smiled.

"Why are you laughing?" he asked her smiling.

"Because, I really like you too," she said shyly, looking up at his perfect smiling face. Linnea thought about the warning bells in her head, and then pushed it away. She could handle him.
