Have you ever wondered what it might be like, to have sports at your school, but the one sport that you really like, isn't there? Well that's how I and many others feel, for so many years, kids at Clarkdale Jerome School, have been protesting, and begging the staff to let them have a soccer team at their school. It's really unfair, because some kids might only want to play soccer and not any of the other sports, but they don't even get a chance.
One reason that we should have a school soccer team is that they're so many kids who play rec league, that when they get old enough to play a school sport, there isn't a soccer team. So they have to wait another year, to get back on the field and play. This is ridiculous, there should at least be a soccer team, so that the kids can try and make the team. But there is not even a team to begin with. Think of all those kids that could be playing sports at our school, help them and help the future kids that want to play soccer here. Since there are so many kids who would want to play, I think there is no other reason why we shouldn't have a team.
My second reason is that, to have a school soccer team, you have to have competition. CMS (Cottonwood Middle School) already has a team, and other schools in the Verde Valley have teams too. So there wouldn't really be a problem there. I even know some kids from my rec league team that play on the CMS soccer team. They say it's so much fun, and that they have been looking for more competition too. It would be great for our young minds, to get a break from school work once or twice an evening, in a week. Teachers might think we need fewer sports so we can focus on school work. But studies show, that with sports, it gives kids a chance to let their emotions out, so they're not so stressed out on their school work.
My last and final reason, that we should have a school soccer team is that the kids can make new friends, and maybe find some things out about other people that they didn't know. I know lots of kids at school that play soccer and wish that they could make new friends. That's why if we have a school soccer team, we can make new friends, and build team work and chemistry
We need a school soccer team, because it gives kids a chance to do what they love, make new friends and have some fun. If you push and help us get a team, then you'll know you helped put smiles on kid's faces, and helped make a change. So help the fellow kids at Clarkdale Jerome School, make a school soccer team, and make a change.
