I open my eyes. It takes me a few minutes to remember who and where I am. The dollhouse. I haven't a clue how long I've been asleep but I have this feeling that it's been a very, very long while.
"Hello?" I call out, my soft voice reverberating off the walls. No reply. I get to my feet, pulling myself from the carved wooden bed. I walk through the silent room finding no trace of my sisters anywhere. I'm growing more and more fearful with every passing moment. What's going on?
I am snapped out of my fear bubble with a jolt as a loud crash echoes all around me. I run to the window and look frantically around for the source of the horrid noise. I pull open the blinds.
I shriek and stumble backwards bringing a chair down with me, as a giant blue eye states straight at me.
This is impossible. Utterly implausible. No human has ever been able to see us animated. The same power that made us who we are always blocked our alive-ness from the real world. Until now. Apparently the order of things has reversed itself.
The gigantic eye blinks and then moves away from the window.
I huddle in the corner of the room in terror, waiting for my impending doom.
"What the hell are you?"
