I watched my daughter as she and her beloved mare moved gracefully over the well kept arena heading towards a five foot jump. It was nothing bigger than what they've jumped before, but my heart still raced every time they got ready to jump.
She gave me a big thumbs up as they passed by, then turned towards the jump again and I watched as her mouth moved, counting the beats silently.
Then I watched as theare launched herself upward, and my jaw dropped as my daughter fell to the ground, right where the mare was to land.
My heart ached as I watched the mare's front leg came and land right on my daughter's neck.
I rushed over as the mare walked away then turned to face us. The minute I touched my daughter's cold face, my heart shattered into a million small pieces.
Her eyes were still open, glazed and lifeless. Her body was limp like a ragdoll, and there was no saving her.
"you killed her, you good for nothing horse! You killed my daughter!"
