I had been staying at Malfoy Manor few about three days. Mrs. Malfoy insisted on me staying for a while. I quite liked her and I was grateful for her invitation. I had been keeping my distance away from the Malfoy family as much as possible. I wasn’t very find of them and I new that they would rather be spending time with Scorpius anyways. He loved the attention he was receiving from everyone.

I spent most of my time in my room or the Library that the Malfoy’s had. They had shelves loaded with books. They were my weakness, I might have not had as much love for them like Hermione but I loved them all the same. I did have some down moments living here as well.

This is were Voldemort was staying; this is were Death Eaters of all sorts would drop by and have their meetings. I had thought about leaving after a few days but I had decided against it many times. I wasn’t exactly “happy” here, but I knew that Scorpius was and that was as good enough for me.

Through this period of time I had been owling the burrow secretly. I would tell all I could about what was happening, what they were planning, and what was bound to happen at any given day, hour, or second. Mrs. Weasley had insisted on Scorpius and me coming back thinking that we weren’t safe here, but then gave up after I rejected. It was all for Scorpius.

I was currently in the Library of Malfoy manor curled up on the windowsill with a book in hand. I had been in her all morning and hadn’t left once. The one thing that I did like about staying here for a while was that I didn’t have my hands full 24/7. Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy, Draco, and even Bellatrix were out with Scorpius while I had time to myself.

I continued my reading but then stopped when I felt a tug on my sleeve of my shirt. I looked over to my left and saw that Scorpius was grasping into my arm.

“What do you need Scorp?” I asked annoyed by him.

“Mummy… can you hid me please? Quickly?” He added. I crossed my arms and put my book aside.

“Why?” I asked. Scorpius sighed impatiently.

“I’m playing hid-n-seek!” He replied throwing his arms up in the air.

“Okay…um…” I said as I was trying to think. I scanned the room around and then thought of possible hiding places. My eyes caught the green curtain that was hanging on the wall.

“Scorpius. Go and hide behind that curtain. Come on.” I said grabbing his hand lightly and dragging him along with me. I pushed the curtain aside revealing the brown walls behind. “Stay here and don’t make a sound.”Told him as I let the Curtain cover him up. I fixed the bottom hem making sure that his shoes weren’t visible. When I was pleased with my work I scurried back to my spot on the window.

I opened my book to where I last left off from and began reading. From the corner of my eye I saw Scorpius’s head peak out from behind the curtain. I smiled and then put my index finger up to my lips signaling for him to stay quiet. I put my finger back down when I heard footsteps coming towards us.

I looked up from my book and turned my head to the body standing outside the doorway. There stood Malfoy. He slowly walked inside looking away from my gaze upon him. He walked about the room and moved furniture along with him trying his hardest to search for my son.

“Scorpius! Where are you?” He called out; I smiled to myself and turned my attention back to my book. From the corner of my eye I saw Scorpius’s platinum blonde hair peek out form behind the curtain. I felt Malfoy eye’s upon me and travel to where my eyes were focused.

I heard his footsteps walking towards me. He bent his head down and looked in the direction my eyes were in. When I realized this I quickly returned to my book. Malfoy however walked over to the curtain where Scorpius was hidden. He pushed the curtain aside revealing Scorpius.

I watched as a small smiled formed across Malfoy’s face as Scorpius jumped into his arms.

“Daddy! You found me.” He shouted. Malfoy smiled.

“Yeah, that means I won.” He said as his smirk formed across his lips as Scorpius pouted.

“Mummy, that means next time you have to hide me better!” He said. “I like it better when Heather and you play with me.” He added. Draco smirk formed into an emotionless face. He turned towards me slowly setting Scorpius down.

“Heather? Who’ Heather Clarkson?” He asked angry.

“His Nanny. What’s wrong with that Malfoy?” I asked slamming my book closed and setting it aside as I got up walking over to Scorpius and picking him up in my arms.

“Why the Hell did you hire a nanny for my Son?” He shouted.

“So I can work! I have no money if I don’t work Malfoy!” I shouted. “Unlike you and your family I wasn’t born into a wealthy family.” I added.

“I knew that Clarkson! But why did you hire a nanny! Just have you’re mother watch over him.” He said. My heart sank and water slowly filled my eyes.

“I don’t have parents anymore Malfoy… they died.” I said choking up on my words. His angry expression left his face.

“I’m… sorry. For over reacting… and I’m sorry to hear about your parents.” He said. He placed his hand upon my arm and looked at me straight in the eye. Before things could get any worse I left his touch and walked out of the Library with Scorpius and walked into my room.

I collapsed on my bed and began to cry. I held Scorpius to my body and continued my sobbing.

I missed my parents. I wished I had my mother with me right now running her soft fingers through my hair and cooing me down. But I didn’t, I didn’t have her anymore. I heard knocking from outside the door.

“Clarkson? Are you okay?” Said Malfoy’s cold smooth voice. I didn’t answer. I heard the turning of the doorknob and footsteps walking inside. “Sydney…” He trailed but I dared not to look.

“You mind taking Scorpius away from here for a while?” I asked him holding him over to Malfoy.

“Sure. Come Scorpius.” He said before walking away from me with Scorpius.

I spent that entire day locked in my room crying and crying and about my life. About every sacrifice I’ve made for the people around me, every sacrifice others have done for me to ensure my protection. But that’s not what I wanted, I wanted my parents most of all and deep down, I wanted Draco again.
