"Ria, having a 16th birthday in California doesn't seem like such a bad idea..." my best friend, Lauren, said. We were sitting in the coffee shop near my house in New York City. It was summer so I was wearing a crop top and shorts and I didn't even care.
"Haha, I don't know..." I replied. Was she dumb? Where was I going to get the money to go to California for a month for my 16th birthday?
"It would be so fun!" Lauren squealed, drinking her coffee. I shrugged. I wouldn't want to think about it now, anyway. It would be fun to go to Cali, just Lauren and I, but, money does come into the situation.
"Whatever," I said, shrugging.
"You know a bunch of celebrities live there. Oh my God! Imagine we meet the Dolan twins or Cameron Dallas?!" Lauren squealed again. I just rolled my eyes. To be honest, I'm not such a big fan of the Dolan twins or Cameron Dallas. I don't see what people see in them. Lauren is obsessed though. She even has a fan page for the Dolan twins that has 10k followers. Crazy, right?
"Ew. Where would we stay even?" I asked. She answered so fast like she already had it planned out.
"We could stay at a hotel or I have a friend in Cali named Hope, maybe we could stay with her!" She responded. I thought. That could work, except I didn't really know Hope that well.
"OK, I'll ask my mom," I replied. We sipped our coffee when all the sudden Lauren gasped. I stared at her as she stared at her phone. What the hell is wrong with her?
"Oh my God! I can't even speak right now! Ethan Dolan just Favorited my tweet about Cali and said back that he would love to see me!" Lauren yelled. So many emotions in me. What tweet about Cali...
"What tweet about Cali..." I responded. I looked down and blushed.
"Well... I might have already tweeted we were going... Oops," she replied. I glared at her.
"You WHAT?!" I yelled. I am over exaggerating... It's not that bad...
"And Ethan sort of gave me his number and we've been texting..." she whispered. Is this really happening?
"Wow... That's insane," I replied. I was happy for her, I was. I guess I was sort of jealous because I wanted a hot guy to text me... Gah I didn't mean he's hot... Well he is... Um never mind.
"And he sorta told me we could go there for your birthday and live with them for a month..." she said. Was this really happening? I was going to spend a month with the Dolan twins. This is going to be interesting.
