The warm sun glows its rays on the verdant ground. Rabbits of white hop about and Mallard Ducks strut in the shallow lake. There is a house. It is ten stories high, two people on each floor, except for the Office. This is a very regal house. A house fit for someone who has just left the "rookie" stage of Terraria, though. It may not be something that is called "Best House Ever", but it is something to look at besides flat land, which surrounds it. Of course, at the top of this house, is the Office. It just wouldn't make sense if it wasn't at the top. Then the self appointed president of this Terraria World couldn't look down on his people and watch their needs and actions. This president was named Phoenix. He wore a full set of Silver Armor and wielded a Silver Sword. He loved to build onto, and decorate his  Office. He was a Painting fanatic, but only had one painting: The First Encounter. He longed for more. He looked and looked, but found none. His Painter was asking a lot of money for a good Painting, so Phoenix couldn't just buy one. Which sends him forward on a quest.

Phoenix breathed out and turned his gaze to his desk. There lay his Sword. He walked over to the shining weapon and picked it up. He slowly sheathed it and thought about what he had. Today's the day! I'm finally gonna get a new Painting! A quest for Paintings is a dangerous thing, because they were so deep down and rare. Nobody knew this better than Phoenix, the Painting maniac with just one Painting. A well earned Painting. I cherish the moment when I got it. Phoenix was lost in thought for a moment, but then he snapped out of it. I'll flashback another time, now, it's time for my journey. Phoenix descended the Rope in the middle of his Office to reach the bottom of the house. "Going somewhere, Mr. President?" asked the very upbeat Guide, Kevin. "Just on another Painting hunt!" Phoenix replied with a smile. "I hope you find some good ones, Mr. President!" Kevin said happily. Phoenix thanked him, and then turned to leave. As he rested his hand on the door knob, the Painter called out from behind him. "If you find any Gold Coins, come and see me! I might just have some REALLY good Paintings when you get back!" he yelled. Phoenix told him that he would and he then he swung the door open to the outside world.

Phoenix slowly walked on the fine grass. It wasn't very trampled, but the Zombies tried everything they could to try to make it that way. Speaking of Zombies, Night would be falling soon. Luckily, it wasn't so soon that Phoenix had to hurry his pace, or whip out his Sword. Even if it magically became Night, Phoenix was super prepared. He was Painting hunting after all. Something did quicken his pace, though it wasn't the Night's near coming. It was a Chest. He could only barely make out that it was a Chest, because of the now setting sun, but he was almost sure he had seen one. He ran over to the mouth of a very small Cave. Hardly even a Cave, just a tiny little hole of a path leading into a tiny dirt room with a Chest. Phoenix entered this tiny little Cave and went into the dirt room. He slowly approached the Chest. There was a thrill rising inside of him as he reached over to throw the latch. He gripped it and flipped it. Then he threw it open to find...three Health Potions, a very weak Old Spear, and a...a very Suspicious Looking Eye. What in the World? Thought Phoenix holding it up, when suddenly, he felt an evil presence watching him.

Phoenix rushed out of the tiny Cave and out to the black Night. Few stars shone at the moment and the World had gone silent. Suddenly, a hissing roar filled the air and chilled Phoenix horribly. As horrible as that shrieking roar was, the monster that it came from was even worse. It was a gruesome sight as it slowly descended from the thick clouds. It was a giant eyeball with optic nerves dangling freely from its back. Under its moist body, lay rows on rows of curved bloody teeth that were tinted a deep yellow. From the cracks in between its teeth flowed a red and yellow liquid. This was the Eye of Cthulhu. Alongside it floated many, many more, except these were much smaller than the giant creature in the middle. These were Servants of Cthulhu. They were small in size, but their evil was too match, even if their roars didn't. Phoenix gripped his Sword and threw it from its sheathe. He held it high above his head and prepared for a huge battle. This would be like nothing Phoenix had ever faced before. A real challenge. He had no faith that he could win this battle. Maybe he should just run back to his house and forget this ever happened. No, he couldn't do that. The Eye of Cthulhu would haunt him forever if he made that choice. He had stop thinking and start fighting, because the foul creature was readying for a quick meal.

The Eye of Cthulhu lunged forward and into the ground. Had it purposefully missed? Phoenix thought, but there wasn't time for further contemplation; the Servants of Cthulhu fell upon him fiercely. Phoenix swung his Sword at the monsters, slashing one of them in half. He rushed at the others and slew them as well. They shrieked as the cold and sharp Silver Sword slashed through them. Phoenix jumped up to hit one that was waiting to attack. There was only one left now. He dodged its attack and then swung his blade into it with force. The Servant of Cthulhu fell to the ground and died. Phoenix cheered. The battle was over! Or was it...no, it wasn't. Bang! Eye of Cthulhu shot up from the ground and sent Phoenix flying into a Tree. Phoenix was severely injured, so he took a Health Potion, but of course acquired Potion Sickness. Phoenix, now cured, lashed at the Eye of Cthulhu. It took the hit, and furiously charged into its foe. Phoenix jumped back just in time to avoid this attack. He swung many slices into the Eye of Cthulhu and then finally, it floated up, except, something was wrong, It opened up to reveal its hideous teeth! Phoenix and the Eye of Cthulhu battled the whole Night, until Phoenix climbed up on a hill and raised his Sword. The Eye of Cthulhu closed its mouth and stared, but as Phoenix leapt from that hill swinging his Sword down hard, the eye sees the end.

Eye of Cthulhu shrieks longer and louder than ever before as it falls and dies. The mighty and horrible monster is slain. Phoenix, in utter excitement, rushes up to his fallen foe and takes his spoils. Lots of Demonite and a much needed...Gold Coin! Phoenix was ecstatic!  He searched around for anything else, but found nothing. He decided that it was time to return home after that huge adventure, so he did. By the time he reached his home, the sun was prominently at the highest point in the sky. What a great journey, but Phoenix was a bit disappointed. He didn't even see one Painting on that quest. He was excited, but still sad. He stuffed his hand in his pocket and saw something shiny. What was it? The Gold Coin! The Painter said that he brought him one, he'd give him a cool new Painting! He rushed up the Rope and went into the Painter's room. "I have a Gold Coin!" Phoenix shouted with excitement. "Really? Okay, I'll take that, and here's your Painting! I just finished it and I call it "The Eye Sees The End". Amazing, isn't it?" says the Painter happily. "Yes!" cries Phoenix realizing that the man depicted slaying the Eye of Cthulhu is none other than himself!
