She snached it

but it trickled through her fingers slowly like melting ice

tick tock

refusing to be captured

refusing to stand still

tick tock

she chased another one

trying to catch some she ran and ran

snatching and grabbing and clutching any in her reach

tick tock

but each melted away like the one before

she just needed a little more of it

why couldn't it just stay still

tick tock

why did it have to run away

she never had enough nobody did

tick tock

she was running out fast

tick tock

all she had passed to quickly to be enjoyed

tick tock

it was gone before she knew what she had

all of hers had wasted away unused

tick tock

she wanted it back

she needed it back

just a little more

tick tock

just a tad, a year, a month, a week, a day, an hour, a minute, a second

tick tock

why had she never realized she had been wasting it

how did she forget that everybody ran out

how did she forget

tick tock

why didn't she use what she had

tick tock

how did she forget

tick tock

time runs out

tick tock
