Where would I go?

                  CHAPTER SIX

    It has been a whole week since I spoke to Harley & Grog & my life was right back in hell with no one there to stop any of the abuse.

   Shayla & her pathetic friends took extra care to give me a good beaten the first time that they realized that no one was going to step in to stop them & my stepfather’s beatings had gotten more frequent since my mother was working every night now.

   Needing to use more & more makeup & losing more & more weight I resembled & corpse, I don’t know how much longer I could live like this, death would be a welcome right now just so I wouldn’t feel all this pain & sadness but I couldn’t do that to my mother & I wouldn’t leave her living with that monster on her own in case he turned his violence on her instead.

   Walking into school after yet another night of being beaten & knowing I would get another from Stacy & her friends I just wanted to turn around & walk out into the middle of the road.

   As I was approaching the main entrance of the school as slowly as I could trying to put of my beating as long as I could, I heard shouting so turned in the direction it was coming from.

   A large crowd had formed over near the football oval & were shouting encouragement to a fight that was taking place.

    Limping quickly in that direction I looked for anyone familiar involved in the fight but couldn’t see over the heads of the crowd.

     When I heard Harley shouting over the shouts from the crowd I tried to shove my way through the crowd to see what was going on, fearing that she was involved in a fight with someone. But it wasn’t Harley beating some poor guy up & it wasn’t Grog who was trying his hardest to stop the fight before they got caught, no it was neither of them instead it was their cold angry friend.

    Do not ask me what the hell came over me but seeing the other male punch Jace in the jaw I found myself rushing forwards & shoving in between them & staring the guy down as he tried to take another swing.

    Grog grabbed my arm trying to pull me away but I wouldn’t budge “Kitty Kat what the hell are you doing come out of the way before you get hurt” he pleaded trying again to pull me away.

   

    Yanking my arm away from him I shoved the guy again “stop it & go before one of the teachers get here” he looked me up & down then looked over my head at his opponent “this freak your girlfriend?”

     Jace gave a cold laugh & stepped around me bumping my shoulder & knocking me sideways “I have better taste then that & we aren’t finished yet” I put my head down & turned planning on going until the other guy said something else that for some reason had all hell breaking lose “good thing you aren’t dating that, I heard she is so messed up that she lets people hurt her before she hurts herself & I heard her daddy even had some fun with her.”

    Before anyone could blink Jace took a quick step forwards pulled his arm back then forwards at an alarming speed & the guy was on ground knocked out cold.

   Blinking I looked from the guy on the ground to guy standing over him then to his friends standing with their mouths hanging open then I quickly spun around & pushed my way back through the speechless crowd & ran.

     Like the cowered that I am I ran away from the school & kept running while wondering how a guy I had never seen or spoken to in my life knew some of my deepest darkest secrets & why Jace reacted the way that he did when he claimed not to even like me.
