Beep...Beep...Beep! I groaned to the sound of my alarm clock ruining my sleep. I just need a few more minutes...or hours."Chey!", my mom yells to get me out of bed. Even though she is all the way downstairs in the kitchen and I am upstairs in my closed door bedroom with a pillow over my head and ears to block out sound...I can still hear her! I don't even think she knows how to whisper! I got up from my bed and winced when my feet touched the cold, hardwood floor. I looked at my alarm clock. It was 6:00 A.M. Oh how I hate waking up so early in the morning. Why can't school start in the afternoon!?
I yelled at my mom telling her that I am coming. Yes, I yelled. OK, so my mom and I don't really have a good relationship. But even though she can be a pain in the neck, I feel bad for her. Her husband, AKA my dad, died. She dreamed of having this big family, but I'm and only child sooooo that's not going to happen. I have never really known my dad. He really is just a blur in my life.
I walked downs stairs on my tippy-toes saying, "Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold." I was still barefoot.
"Where are my slippers?", I asked my mom giving her a death stare because I just know her so well that I am positive she was involved in the mystery of my disappearing, white and pink, fluffy bunny slippers.
She looked at me smiling. She told me that she sold them at our yard sale to an old lady. Ugh!!!!
I went to the bathroom to shower, change, brush my teeth, all that stuff. I had already picked out my clothes the night before as usual. I wore a light purple T-Shirt with white accents and some skinny jeans. My shoes were simple too. Just some black Converse. When I walked into the kitchen, my stomach growled. "Mom," I said. Once she heard my voice, she quickly shut her book. It had a black hard cover on it with a pair of golden eyes and the title read "Golden Eyes". The book seemed just a tad bit old, but what I am really confused about is why did my mom seem like she was hiding it from me? I could tell that she was nervous too. I asked her what she was reading.
She told me that it was just a book that she found in the attic, but her voice was shaky and her hand gripped on harder to the book. So hard, that it looks like she could brake it.
I walked past her and started to make pancakes since my mom doesn't like to cook for me since I am 16 and i should make my own food. Finally, i made some...ummmm...slimy, bumpy looking pancakes and it also looks raw on one side. OK, so i am not the best cook, but I was really hungry so I was like, What The Hay!, I will give it a try....big mistake.
I grabbed my baby blue and brown rucksack and headed out the door. As I was walking, I felt like someone was following me so I quickly turned around and no one was there. So, I was like paranoid for the rest of the walk until...I felt someone tap my shoulder. I rapidly turned around and kicked whoever was behind me on their leg.
"Owwww", some brown haired dude said. He had deep blue yes and was sort of tan, but not really. He matched my skin color.
"Are you stalking me?", I asked with a sort of sassy tone.
"I just wanted to ask you if you went to this school", he said pointing to my high school.
"Oh,sorry...hey, at least I didn't kick you...well you know where." I said smiling as I helped him up.
"That would be unfortunate", he said chuckling. I had this feeling like I already knew the guy...now if only I knew his name.
"Jaden, my name is Jaden", he said. Did he just read my mind?" Maybe I did, Goldie." he said. OMFG. He read my mind!?!?! How is that possible!?! Wait...Goldie?
"Two things Jaden. #1:How did you just read my mind!?!?! and #2: Goldie?
"Yeah, It's my new nickname for you. Mostly because I don't know your name. Oh, and you'll find out how I read your mind later."
"Well, your not weird at all", I said sarcastically. "Wait, but why Goldie? It doesn't sound like my name Cheyanne, I prefer if you called me Chey, my hair is dark brown, not blonde, and my eyes are brown...not gold. Although, that would be cool. I'd be like a superhuman...kind've like you reading people's mind and all." I said smiling and that is when I realized that I was blushing. Since when do I blush?
" You look cute when your blushing, Goldie." he said.
"I told you my name already! And seriously, why Goldie!?!?!"
"I think i'll stick with Goldie...Goldie"
"Whatevs, anyways, are you new here or something?", I asked
"Yup, starting my freshmen year in March. I am 17 by the way." he said.
"Me too"
RIIIIIIIIIIIING!!! The bell rang and we walked through the rushing crowd of students entering school.
