~Prologue~
"But why?" She spoke, with a broken heart and a sadden face. "Why can't you just stay?"
"Theresa, dear, I love you. I love you so much. But you must understand. I have to go, for a while. A long while pumpkin. But Mommy will be here. She's a great at being around, unlike I am......" He sighed and gave a fake plastered smile that was surely weak. She was only five, how could she actually understand? "I love you. Take care of your Mom, will you?"
Theresa, like the sensible girl she was, nodded to her Dad, placed her lips upon his cheek and watched as he walked from her life.....forever.
But Theresa didn't know it at the time. She thought he'd be back, with flowers and chocolates like all those others time.
No. This time, he's not coming back. Her Mom kicked him out. It was the last straw for her, and her child, though Theresa didn't know it.
"Bye, Daddy...." Says the finally childhood inside of Theresa Johnson. Goodbye indeed.
