Before I realized what I was doing, my gauntlets were charged with lightning and I dove towards the werewolf. He must have sensed me and spun, mid run, and grabbed me by the armor. I grabbed his forearm and a jolt went through both of us, sending us to the ground. I jumped up as soon as his grip loosened. I saw the elfe stop out of the corner of my eye. A large wolf lunched at her and a shot a bolt of lightning at it, sending the beast over her head.
"Run!! Don't stop!!" I yelled, and without hesitation she was gone.
More wolves started after her, but I summoned a wall of fire, incinerating the lead wolf. The entire pack turned and surrounded me, but left a wide circle. The werewolf crawled to its feet and looked at me. A low growl echoed through the air, then the last thing I had expected.
"How dare you steal my pray, wizard," it said in a deep ancient voice.
"I did not steal your pray, I saved it from a horrible fate," I said hesitating.
"You shouldn't have done that. I let you go after you killed my pack, but now I will surely kill you. I'm not as weak as the rest," it said, baring its fangs.
"Really? Should I try out my new weapon on you?" I asked, smiling. I drew my staff and spun it around my hand a couple times. All of the wolves growled together, sounding like thunder rolling across the skies. I spun the staff faster, sending lighting through my gauntlets and into the weapon. A dazzling circle of light appeared as I spun the staff.
The werewolf held out its hand, and the ground slowly rose to meet it, outlining the shape of a sword that was almost as tall as itself. The dirt solidified and a silver color came about the blade of the sword.
"Regina will be enough for you," the beast growled.
Then it grasped the hilt and swung, our two blades colliding made a clash of light in the forest, followed by a roll of thunder. Its muscles were bulging, vines could be seen, and the fibers of the muscles were outlined in a detailed pattern. He pushed off the ground, flying through the air, and ricoshaded of a tree back towards me. Jumping back, I braced for contact. I knew that it would bounce off the ground towards me, and I was right.
Once it touched the ground, it came towards me. I intercepted its swipe and was sent towards a tree. Flipping around, I mimicked the beast and went back at it. No doubt that it did the same thing. We kept countering each others blows, somehow climbing higher and higher in the trees. Before I knew it, I was dodging branches along with its attacks. I landed on a branch and waited. The werewolf rebounded of a tree and back towards me. When it swiped with its sword, I ducked. The sword went over my head and cut right through the tree, sending the top of the tree down to the ground. I heard yelps from the wolves below. The werewolf stood on the tree where it had cut, and pointed the sword at me.
"You will die today," it said.
"Bring it," I said back.
It lunched at me and I deflected the sword, while I went for a punch. The beast dodged the punch and tried to cut upwards, but I countered with a jab. It countered with a spin attack, but I blocked with the staff. We kept countering with each other until it caught my staff. Before I could send lightning into its heart, it pulled the staff from me and enlodged it into a tree several feet away. It then tripped me, but I managed to stay on the branch, and stabbed with the sword.
I grabbed the sword with my hands, holding it inches from my face. A toothy smile appeared on the beast's face, and it pushed on the sword, slowly making the blade go closer and closer to my face. Before the beast could react, I smiled and sent lightning through its own sword and through its body. The smile disappeared from its face, the bloodthirsty look diminutioned, and its heart beat stopped. The sword turned into sand in my hands, and the beast fell from the branch down to the ground. I rolled off the branch and landed on top of the dead beast.
