"I see they still haven't changed the schools lunch menu?" Claire sniffed at my pathetic looking hamburger.
"Mmm." I mumbled staring down at the burger.
"You really gonna eat that?" Harris pitched in holding a polished red apple.
I poked the meat between the buns and pushed the meal away. Turning my nose up I said, "I guess not. Food poisoning is not on my lists of things to get." I sighed. Claire sent me sympathetic look.
"Here." Harris said as he pushed his delicious-looking sandwich towards me. "Have it."
"I- Nah I shouldn't." I squeaked awkwardly avoiding his icy blue eyes. I couldn't take away his delectable sandwich that was filled with tomato, lettuce, ham, eggs and mayonnaise all stuffed between two pieces of white fluffy bread. God knows he needed it. The boy was a walking toothpick!
I peered at Claire who was taking a big bite into her tuna sandwich. Ew. Tuna.
"Well," Claire started to say with her mouth still very full of tuna sandwich. "I would've offered you mine but someone doesn't like tuna sandwich." She gave me a scolding look.
"Yeah. I despise the tuna." I shuddered dramatically. She rolled her eyes at me and continued to chew away.
"Gen. Just take it. Besides, I'm not hungry. I got this apple, you know what they say! An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" He threw his apple up, caught it and took a grisly bite.
I laughed and modestly took the sandwich. "Thanks... Hare-Bear." I smiled cheekily at him.
"Don't call me that!" He huffed and slammed his apple down on the table. Claire burst out in laughter. "I give you my moms special made sandwich and you thank me by calling me Hare-Bear?!"
I laughed and started to open the plastic bag of which the sandwich was contained in.
"Oh don't get your panties in a twist."
"Panties? Wha- Just don't call me Hare-Bear!" Harris shrieked.
"Why not? It's perfectly fitting." I said with a smug look. I just loved teasing Harris. He was too cute to tease!
"I don't care if you think its fitting! Stop calling me that!" Harris flung his arms up with an exasperated expression etched onto his face.
"Okay Hare-Bear." I smiled at him before taking a good bite into the sandwich. And mmm did it taste like heaven. A sandwich couldn't be more perfect.
Harris let out a groan of frustration before returning to his apple and muttering obscenities under his breath.
I giggled and proceeded to finish my lunch. The cafeteria was huge and students were busy eating, laughing, gossiping and even chucking food at each other.
"Hey are you guys coming to my game tonight?" Claire suddenly spoke up with a water bottle in her hand.
"Which game?" I asked casually.
"Yeah you might want to be a little more specific. Like softball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, volleyball, track, soccer? Because you play all of those." Harris added. He was right, Claire was extremely sporty. She played all of the sports and was amazing, definitely sure to get a free ride to college.
"There's no such thing as a track game dumb dumb." Claire stared flatly at Harris. "It's called a meet. And it's my soccer game. We're going up against the Hawks. Gonna be a close one." She said excitedly.
"What time?" Harris asked.
She squinted her eyes and looked up at the ceiling as if she were trying to remember what time it started.
