“Took you guys long enough to get here” Was the first thing me and Derek heard as we exited the jeep. And the smartass comment came from none other than Jackson himself (he was back from the "dead" and we told everyone it was just a prank that we got severely yelled at and punished for). He was starting to get annoying with the badass attitude he came up with when he was fully turned. We didn’t think he could become even more of an assehole. We were wrong.

“Oh shut up Jackson we weren’t that late.” Came Derek’s irate reply to his newest beta. Jackson just rolled his eyes and walked away to go train with Isaac.

I walked over to the half way burned hale house. Derek and Peter had started reconstruction on it over the summer. They thought that having a more suitable place for the pack to call home would be better than a god damn abanded train way. I agreed.

As I sat down and watched the way that Derek took control and set up the training for the pack. Allison and Danny were working with cross bows, shooting them at targets 500ft away from them. Lydia who had recently become a student of Deaton to was helping Isaac and Jackson with their agility. Making tree roots and things come out of nowhere to keep them on their toes.

Scott was working with Derek an Peter was up on the roof putting new shingles up. It was nice to see that everyone was working together laughing and joking. It was nice to see how far everyone had come since the last school year. We had all realized that we needed to work together if we were going to be able to protect this town.

I smiled to myself and laughed outright when Jackson was tripped for the 22nd time by Lydia.

“Why don’t you come and do this then if you’re just going to sit there and laugh at me. I would like to see you do better!” Came Jackson’s irate reply to my little chuckles at his expense.

“I don’t know Lydia looks pretty scary when she can do that” I jokingly answered even though I was already getting up and walking towards the other side of the clearing. I threw a nod to Lydia and winked at Jackson before I took off in a dead sprint towards the other side.

I let the magic that was inside of me become more aware and spread out my senses so I knew when each of Lydia’s obstacles was coming up. I made sharp turns and high jumps to avoid swinging branches and balls of glamour that look like flames. I could feel my stamina draining slightly from the energy I was exerting to know when everything was coming up. I was starting to pant, from lack of breath.

I was getting closer and closer to the other side until last minute Lydia made a gigantic tree root swing up from the ground and heading towards my face. At the last second I twisted my body downwards throwing my body weight down so that way I would slide across the dirt under and away from the branch but I misplaced how much strength I put into it and slid right into a giant tree.

“Oh shit fuck! That fucking hurts!” I screamed out as I slide face first into it. I could hear Lydia and Jackson laughing in the background, there laughter silenced by Derek’s growl of irritation. I stood up wincing at the throbbing in my skull. My vision was blurry and I think I bit my tongue when I landed on the tree because my mouth tasted like copper and my tongue stung horribly.

“Bro are you okay!?” Scott asked as he showed up in front of me having run over here to see if I was alright.

“Yah I’m fine but I don’t know if it’s a good thing that there’s two of you dude.” Was the only thing I could say before my vision went black and I passed out.
