"Oh my god, these guys are great!"
Chen turned to his right to see Sehun, his eyes glued to the figure skaters on the ice I front of them, doing spins and tricks much too complicated for just anyone. He had to admit, they were really good. So good, in fact, that he was ninety-nine percent sure that they were professionals. It would explain the fancily tailored suits that the skaters wore, along with their perfectly choreographed routine.
"Chen? Chen! Are you watching this? Aren't they amazing?"
Chen blinked and looked at Sehun, shaken out of his reverie.
"Yeah, of course I'm watching. Who wouldn't be?" He replied. Sehun raised an eyebrow at him, then shrugged and turned back to the skaters. Chen inwardly sighed in relief.
Truthfully, he wasn't watching the skaters. Well, not exactly, anyways. He was watching them, but not entirely. One skater, in particular, had caught his eye, and he'd spent the last ten minutes watching her perform.
She was beautiful; long, (h/c) hair trailing behind her in waves, framing a (s/c) and pretty face. Her petite form twisted and turned with each trick she performed, and he knew she must have been strong. It takes a lot of muscle to keep yourself suspended while spinning.
After what seemed like hours, the performance ended, and the rink was once again open for anyone to skate on. His friends took their chance immediately.
Unfortunately for Chen, he was the only one in his friend group that didn't know how to ice skate, resulting in his reluctance to go. It was Sehun that grabbed him and forced him to his feet.
"Come on, Chen. You're not going to sit by yourself while we all skate. Now get your ass up and skate with us."
Chen sighed. He really didn't want to skate and make a fool of himself, especially with the professionals still being here and practicing on their own.
"Fine, but I'm staying against the wall," he said. Sehun grinned, told him it was fine, and left him to catch up with everyone else.
Skaters zoomed past him, making some of the easiest tricks to be learned look a thousand times harder. Despite the people whooshing past him, Chen continued hobbling slowly around the rink, clinging onto the wall for dear life.
He had to admit, this wasn't exactly good for his image. If anyone else that he knew saw him, his cool reputation would be done for. He couldn't have that. Even more so, he really hoped that she wouldn't see him.
My god, this is gonna be a long night.
Your POV
You had felt a strange sensation all night. It was almost as if someone was watching you. Technically speaking, lots of people were watching you, seeing as you were performing. However, it didn't feel like it usually did. Usually, when people watched you perform, they weren't watching just you, but the group as a whole. Tonight, however, it had felt as though a pair of eyes was tracking you specifically. Unfortunately, you couldn't figure out who it was.
Despite your growing unease, you continued doing your routine, perfectly executing the intricate patterns and movements. When your performance had finally ended, the feeling of being watched seemed to disappear, and you became relaxed within moments. The rest of your group congratulated each other before leaving, seeking their homes and rest. You, however, wanted to skate some more, and so you stayed. You also wanted to figure out who had been watching you.
However, finding your "stalker" wasn't the first thing on your mind and you thus commenced figure skating around the center of the ring, careful to avoid getting in the way of the other skaters that had hence-forth come on the ice. You spun around aimlessly, with no agenda or idea as to what you were doing. It was then that you felt eyes on you again.
Quickly, you turned in the direction the stare seemed to be coming from, and saw a man, not much older than you, staring at you. So it was him.
He was hobbling along the ice, clutching onto the wall for support. You had to admit, he was quite handsome; his chestnut hair shone in the light. He also seemed incredibly unskilled in the ways of ice skating. Cute.
He finally noticed that you were staring at him, managing to almost fall on his face before catching himself on the wall once again. You couldn't help but laugh a little when he looked back up at you sheepishly. Slowly, you made your way to him, weaving in and out of the stream of skaters.
"Hi," you said, when you finally reached him.
"Hi," he said, still sheepish and blushing slightly. "I'm Chen."
"Hi, Chen. I'm (y/n). You look like you need a little help. Would you like me to teach you?"
