"Thor..." You said in a pleading tone while standing in front of his chambers. You already had your fighting armor on you. Odin's army, warrior's three and you were going to war against Jotunheim since they challenged odin. It was beginning soon, but you were slightly worried. Thor was still upset and broken about his brothers death, so he locked himself up in his chambers for nearly a month and not even you, as his lover, could get him out. You wanted him to fight by your side, but he had lost all interest in fighting. "Do not bother me (Y/n)." He said from behind the door in a cracking voice. "Thor, please...you have been in your chamber for a long time, mourning your brothers death but it's time to move on. The warrior's three need you. The king needs you. And I need you too." You could hear him move inside his room but the door remained locked. "They do not need me. They will do fine without me. So will you. Go now. " You could hear a slight tint of annoyance in his voice but you didn't give up yet. You loved him and wanted him to feel happy again. "You are the strongest warrior there is. Jotunheim isn't going to be easy. You can't keep on living inside your walls you need to let your emotions out so we, I can help you. Your brother would want you to win this battle!" You said concerned but louder this time. You heard thunder from the distance, you knew he was growing impatient. "No he wouldn't. Stop trying to reason with me (Y/n). I'm not going to fight Loki's race and that's final." You were frustrated and tried on more time. Bad idea.
"Your brother-"

Suddenly the door flew open to reveal an very angry looking Thor. His hair was a tangled mess and he was only wear his pants, his body was sweaty and you could see behind him, his room was a mess. Thunder and lightning were clearly audible now, they were probably right above the palace.
"STOP TALKING ABOUT MY BROTHER! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM AND YOU NEVER WILL BECAUSE HE IS DEAD! I SHALL NOT GO AND I WANT YOU OUT OF MY SIGHT RIGHT NOW!" The thunder rolled loudly outside, and you hand a hand on your mouth while tears streamed down your face. At the sight of you Thor was a little bit taken aback because he had never seen you cry. "Then don't...I shall never bother you again. I know you wouldn't want me to say that but I knew your brother quite well, and he would be as disappointed as I am right now!" With that you ran away. Thor growled but locked himself again. Now he had lost his brother AND his possible queen. What was he doing? He didn't even know anymore. He just crawled in his messy bed and let the thoughts and tiredness wash over him.

*time skip four days*

Three days. Three days the warrior's and you were fighting against Jotunheim. The war turned out to be won, but many warrior's died on the battlefield. Laufey however managed to escape.

On the fourth day, the survivors came back to get medical attention and to tell the kingdom, war was won. Thor had felt guilty shortly after you had a fight so he waited impatiently for the warrior's to return. He was standing on the rainbow bridge, checking all the warrior's to see if you were with them. Most of the warriors came back with mental health problems, they were either emotionless or terrified. Thor was searching for almost an hour until The warrior's three and Odin approached him. Sif had a little cloth in her hand and was crying softly. Thor felt Odin's hand on his shoulder and grew confused and scared. Sif stepped in front of him and opened the bundle slowly. Once it was open Thor froze and stopped breathing.

The bracelet.
Your bracelet.
The bracelet Thor gave to you when you confessed your love to each other. It was covered in blood and mud.
Odin broke the deathly silence. "(Y/n) (Lastname) was murdered by a frost giant during the battle. This bracelet was all we could get from her body. I am terribly sorry son." The other warrior's looked on the ground in shame that they had failed to protect you. They all loved your company. Now you were gone.

Thor felt his world crumple in front of his eyes. He fell on his knees. He screamed. All he could remember is that he screamed. The love of his life, his future wife, was dead because of him. He wished this to be a nightmare. He wished to switch places with you. He wanted nothing but apologise for not coming along to protect you, for yelling and for not making the last moments of your life good and peaceful moments.
After that he was never the same again. He didn't feel happy or completed anymore. And all of Asgard knew it.
Years later he married Sif, because the kingdom needed a new king and Queen. Of course, he had no feelings towards her at all. The death of his brother was painful, but nothing compared to yours. He regretted every last word he said to you, and would give anything to tell you how much he loved you.

But that was impossible now.

The end~
