~Thirsting After~
Chapter 1
She saw him from across the room. Through the hundreds of people that filled the dance floor. He stuck out, only to her, like a sore thumb. He stood there, motionless, as everyone buzzed around him. He was gazing at her. She felt blood rush to her cheeks and looked away. She continued to dance as she felt his gaze still apon her. She sheepishly glanced his way. She couldn't help but to smile.
He was exteremly good looking. His eyes were ice blue. He had flawless skin that made her want to reach out to feel how soft it was. As people danced around him, his hair floated in the breeze. He wore a black polo shirt that clung to his muscular figure. His kahkis were so smooth that he must of been standing al night.
As she danced she felt a strong pull toward him. It was almost electric. Every ounce of her body felt it. It was almost unnatural. The longer she ignored it, the stronger it felt. When she looked at him, it was like hr body was on fire.
Unsure of whether her body was on fire because of dancing or because of him, she stumbled to the bar.
"Screwdriver, please!" She yelled above the roar of the music, figuring a strong drink would help her ignore the odd feeling. The bartender set the drink infront of her.
"Thank you!" She screamed. As she reached in her pocket, a hand layed money infront of her. "I got it." His voice was so deep he didnt need to yell. The bartender nodded and left with the money.
Without glancing to her side she knew who it was. She could feel it. That exasperating pull of electricity.
"Thank you." She whispered as she reached for her glass.
"You're welcome." As his lips grazed her ear, a shock wave radiated through her body so quick that it took her breath away.
The same pull that was rushing through her body, made her turn to look at him. She couldnt resist. As if in slow motion, her big, green eyes met his. She gasped as the electricity rushing through her body exploded.
Chapter 2
She shot up in her bed, panting. 'Oh, what a wierd dream!' It was so vivid, so real. She shook it off as she got out of bed.
Alicia shivered as she crossed the bare floor toward the bathroom.
As the hot air filled the bathroom, she thought of the mystery man from her dream. 'Who was he? Have I met him in reality?' Alicia couldnt stop thinking about him. He haunted her mind.
As the water dripped down her body, she sighed. Maybe its just her minds way of telling her to get a boyfriend. She turned off the water and stepped out of the tub. She paused infront of the bathroom mirror.
'Ugh! I hate my hair!' Her hair was shoulder length, midnight black. She constantly fought with the thick frizziness that was hard to control. She shuffled into her room, where she got ready for a long day in school.
As Alicia lazily roamed between classes, her thoughts were still on her dream.
"What is up with you, Alicia?" Questioned the quirky blonde sitting next to her.
"Huh? Oh, I just..." She debated on whether or not to tell the trueth, "I'm just tired."
"ohh, busy last night?" Laughed the blonde.
"Brit!" Alicia declared, "you know me better than that!"
"I know, Alicia," Brit sighed, "but you have been in this funk all day. I was just trying to get you to snap outta it."
"Yeah, sorry," Alicia half-smiled.
"ok, well, we are gonna have lunch together." Brit stated.
"K."Alicia starred at Brit. Brit has been Alicias best friend since kindergarden. They hardly did anything without the other. Alicia knew Brit was going to ask what was going on. The question was; should she tell Brit about a silly little dream that probably meant nothing?
"Woah," Brit stated, "Thats one wierd dream."
"Yeah, well," Alicia sighed, "I'm sure it means nothing."
"No," Brit starred wide-eyed at Alicia, "You need a beau! You are studying too hard and your sex life is calling out to you!"
"Brit! Come on!," Alicia bit into her BLT, "Studying is important to me. Boys just get in the way."
"Fine," she stated, "We are going out this weekend. Just for fun, no beau hunting." Brit poked around her grilled chicken salad with her fork.
"I dont know, Brit," Alicia hesitated,"I have a huge essay due in Ethics on Monday."
"Well," Brit smirked, "it wasnt a request. Its a statement and you are not going to weasel your way out of it." Brit grabbed her plate as she stood up. She walked to the garbage and threw away the salad that she barely ate.
Alicia smiled to herself. Maybe Brit was right. Her social life has been lacking due to her constant studying.
