For the rest of the night, Andia hadn't responded but she also hadn't gone to sleep. Her mind too awake to rest. Instead, she decided that she would write what she felt as she always had to.
For most of her life she wasn't really allowed to display her feelings. She was often told to keep the feelings she needed to express to herself. Not only in past relationships or just family members but also by someone she had come to love more than herself. Her best friend.
To him, she wrote:
I don't think I'm ready. I'm sorry but I just don't think I am. You mean a lot to me so please don't go away because... maybe in the future I might be. I hope you care enough to stay. I just, you know, can't see this long distance being something I can deal with and I... just got out of a relationship. I don't want to hurt you so I think it's best we stay as friends.
And with a shaky click, she sent. Almost instantly she deflated onto her bed and drifted into a deep sleep. When noon rolled around, too soon, an expected messaged waited for her.
To her, he wrote:
Andi, I completely understand. I'm not leaving because you make me too happy. You're the most interesting girl I've had the pleasure of talking to. I don't think it's possible for me to stop talking to you so, yeah, I'm here to stay.
Just you calling me " love" gave me the boost I needed since I was feeling down. I actually appreciate you responding, I didn't think you would and that's what scared me the most.
Trails of warmth glided down her perky, smiling cheeks. She wouldn't have to be alone.
