Before I start this story I will ask you, most humbly, to vote on this story. I have gifted you this series to read for free please show your appreciation by voting. If you don’t like it please tell me - I won’t learn anything if you don’t tell me what I am doing wrong. I post here to make my writing better so I will appreciate all comments - good and bad - providing that they are constructive not just ‘this sucks’! Tell me why it sucks in your opinion, I won’t get angry.
I would also like to say that I vowed to not publish this before I finished it... I haven’t finished it... At this current point in time, I’m half way through. Therefore I won’t be uploading as fast as I hoped. I want to have a buffer of a few chapters so that I can go back and edit them as I’m writing forward.
Please enjoy!

Prologue
Damn, someone was here.
I pushed myself back against the cool surface of the wall. In the dim light of the room the silhouette moved confidently. He turned and I couldn’t help but gasp as his face came into view.
No, it couldn’t be! What was he doing here? He shouldn’t be here.
More importantly - whose side was he on?
Luckily he didn’t hear me. He was searching for something. He threw back the heavy curtains letting a shaft of light pierce the gloom.
Was he looking for me? Did he know we were here?
Joel! Where was Joel? Had he been found?
I slowly turned my head and listened for leather boots marching, the rattle of gun metal, the sound of a scuffle, or anything that would give me a hint as to what was happening outside this room.
