"Are you really okay with this arrangement?" Between the squeaks of worn out shoes on sparkling gym floor and ear piercing screeches of a whistle, you asked the third year male sitting cross-legged beside you.

"Hm? What do you mean?" His silver hair slid across his face as he tilted his head to the side at your sudden remark.

"Suga," you addressed him with a shortened version of his last name. "You know what I'm talking about."

"I'm sorry but I don't think I understand, (Name)." He faked a laugh as he slid down and rested his head on your lap.

"Don't play dumb with me!" You huffed. In the distance, Daichi the Captain called for Suga to join the rest of the team.

"Ah, I have to go now! Wait for me after practice, okay?" He told you while hastily getting up to his feet and giving your head a pat.

"...okay." You watched the back of his retreating figure with a defeated sigh.
---
His volleyball practice ended promptly at six and the two of you exited the gymnasium only to be greeted by a great gust of wind from the uncharacteristically chilly summer evening.

You shivered in the thin fabric of your short-sleeved uniform shirt and noticing your distress, Suga threw the black jersey around your form. Stitched in white, the words 'Karasuno Volleyball Club' twisted with the wind.

"Are you sure this is fine?" You asked with wide eyes as he gave you a reassuring grin.

"It's okay! As long as you let me stay over tonight." He bargained with a sly wink.

"Whatever, you idiot." You laughed and pushed him further along.
---
"So about the thing from earlier today..." You mumbled while slicing a cabbage with clean cuts.

His pale arms hugged you from behind and his pointed chin rested on your shoulder as he answered with a "what's up?".

"What do you really think about being replaced as a regular by that first year kid?"

Without looking at him, you could feel the movement of his shoulders forming a shrug.

"It's okay. I don't mind. It's just one match." He kept his calm composure but you felt him unconsciously tighten his hold.

"Koushi." With a sense of carefulness, you whispered his first name. "This isn't just about that one match. What if he does end up taking your spot for the rest of the year? Will you really be satisfied with being a mere substitute!? Are you going to let him knock you down from your position?"

Your voice rose five octaves higher as you continued to talk and your actions ceased with the sharp edge of the butcher knife hanging dangerously in the air. Suga couldn't help but slightly shiver at the menacing weapon just centimeters away from his face.

"Don't worry (Name). It's for the team and I'll do what's best to help us win. I'm okay no worries."

"It's okay, it's okay, that's all you ever say!" You picked up the chopping again and each layer of green was sliced at record speed. "Tell me how you really feel, dammit! Do you know how much I hate it when you say that word?"

In all honesty, you had a completely justified reason as to why you would come to despise the word "okay" from Suga. Because only idiots like him would accept a girl's confession with 'okay' and expect her to understand what he meant.

It was only two winters ago on the rare, snow-laden rooftop. Your cheeks were dusted a light shade of pink that matched the heart shaped box clutched in your desperate, shaking hands.

He was already there waiting for you, hopping around and blowing puffs of air into his hands to warm himself. When he heard your soft footsteps along with the quiet call of his name, he turned to face you with a smile.

You approached him with cautious steps; the box was kept behind your back and out of view.

"S-Suga-kun."

"(Name)." He greeted back.

"I...I've always liked you since I first saw you at the volleyball tournament in middle school!" The box of chocolates flew in front of you as you offered the box of sweets to him. "So if you don't mind...will you please go out with me?"

Without missing a beat, he gave you his answer.

"Okay."

..Okay? O..kay? That was all? What the hell was that supposed to mean!?

You remembered him accepting your gift with a large grin stretched across his face and in your confusion, you had taken a step back only to slip and fall harshly on your behind.

Ah, the joys of young love.
---
Cold lips pressed against your neck brought you away from your momentary flashback.

"Sorry." He mumbled against your skin. "To be honest...I want to play with all of them on the court too, but I just want to do what's best for the team. Just trust me, alright?"

You absentmindedly nodded, distracted by the pressure still present on your skin.

"(Name)!" Suga's hand shot towards your wrist and stopped your motion as the blade hovered over your unsuspecting finger. Relieved, he sighed and your felt the weight of his forehead on your shoulder.

"I think...ramen will suffice for tonight's dinner." He whispered as he released you and shuffled over to the cupboard.

"Ah....okay, fine."
