People Do Crazy Things

Six.

Shadow and I are on our way back to the school. The kids get out in a few minutes. I'm so excited to see them!

I wonder how their first day went.

We pulled up to the school and waited for the sound of the bell.

After a few minutes it rung and Shadow and I climbed out the truck. We walked into the school along with all the other parents.

We walked up to their classroom and opened the door. They were sitting at a table with a couple other kids. They were giggling and having a fun time.

Brittany walked over and greeted us.

"Maria! Haze! Your parents are here!"she called towards them. Their little ears perked. Their eyes landed on us and they ran over.

"Mommy! Daddy!"they yelled. I giggled as Haze jumped into my arms. Maria jumped into Shadow's. "Hi! We missed you so much!"I smiled as I gave Haze a hug.

"We missed you too!"Haze said as he hugged me back. "Say goodbye to Mrs. Brittany,"Shadow said.

"Bye, Mrs. Brittany!"Haze and Maria said in unison. Brittany giggled and waved at them.

"See you tomorrow, guys!"Maria said to the kids sitting at the table. They waved and yelled their goodbyes.

We exited the school and got in the truck. We helped the kids into their seat belts and climbed in.

Shadow started the engine while I looked back at them with a smile. "So, how was it?"I asked.

"It was awesome! We learned a lot of stuff!"Maria smiled. "Yeah! And we made a bunch of new friends!"Haze grinned.

"That's great! I knew you would!"I said. Shadow was smiling while he drove.

When we made it home, Haze and Maria gave Carter a big hug. They told him they had a good day then went upstairs. They said they wanted to start on their homework right away.

I'm glad their first day went well. They really seem to like going to school.

While they worked upstairs, Shadow, Carter, and I were downstairs.

I was making the kids a snack while Shadow had his arms wrapped around my waist. Carter was sitting at the cabinet behind us.

"Would you mind giving these to the kids?"I asked Shadow. He detached from me and took the plate of fruits. "Sure,"he said. He exited the kitchen and went upstairs.

"You know, (Y/n), I was talking to GUN earlier. They reported that they may know where Sonic is,"Carter said. "Really?"I asked with a smile.

Carter nodded and smiled. "That's amazing! I'm so ready to go home! I like it here but I miss my friends,"I said. "I can understand. I miss my friends that work for GUN. Haven't seen them since last year,"he said.

"I hope you get to see them soon,"I smiled. "Yeah, me too,"Carter smiled.

After an hour, the kids let me check their homework. They did a very good job. I'm really proud of them.

The rest of the night went on normally. After dinner, the twins fell asleep in the living room while watching tv. Shadow and I carried them upstairs to their room.

Shadow and I went into our room. Carter was asleep in his room. I think.

Shadow was reading a book while he rested against the headboard. I jumped into his lap.

He looked up at me and I smiled. "Why are you smiling like that?"he asked. I shrugged and snatched the book from his hands. I marked his page and threw it across the room.

"I was reading that,"he said. "I know but now it's over there,"I said. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around me. I snuggled into his chest.

"Remember when the twins were first born? They were so small and frail,"I said. Shadow hummed in agreement.

"Yes, they were. They've grown so fast,"he said. I nodded.

"I kind of...nevermind."
"What, (Y/n)?"

I blushed and gripped his shirt. "I kind of want...another baby,"I said.

Shadow hugged me and rubbed my back. "We can have another baby. But let's wait until we're out of this situation. I don't want anything happening while you're pregnant,"he said.

"Me neither,"I said. Shadow kissed my head. "Let's get some rest. We have to get the twins dressed before 7:20 in the morning,"he said. I nodded and rolled over onto my side of the bed. I heard Shadow get up and turn off the light.

The bed sinked in when he climbed back in. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt his hot breath on my neck. "Good night, baby,"he whispered. "Good night, Shadsy,"I smiled.

I drifted off into a warm, dreamless sleep.

Oh my gosh. I know. It's only like 800 words. It's short compared to something I'd usually write. I feel ashamed because I haven't updated in SOOOOOO long. But I have nothing to write in between what's going on now and what I have planned later on in the story. The story may only have at least 12 chapters. I know. That's suckish. But it may be longer if I can think of anything else. Anyway, stay lovely, my friends!! Till next time!!!
