"Psst Mel get up!" I heard Louisa's voice right next to my ear. "Hm frizzy bears idhavlh.." was all that came out of my mouth.
"Mel, you better get up right now or Ms. Abigail is gonna drill a hole in your head with her eyes!"
That made me jump in my seat only to look up and see Ms. Abigail scowling at me.
'Oh I'm dead' I thought to myself.
"Ms. James, I hope you know you're in your Math class and not in your bedroom." She glared at me and I could hear the class chuckling. I saw her eyes getting red. Gosh this woman has a mental problem.
I accidentally drifted to sleep. Is that a sin?
"Uh I.. I'm sorry miss. That won't happen again.." I managed to speak up. "I believe so." She said before she turned around and continued to explain an equation.
It's only been 5 days since I've joined this school and I'm already getting scolded by the teachers. I've been sleeping in most of my classes from the past few days and that's because I've been running out of sleep since I am still unpacking stuff, and cleaning up the rooms in our new house.
After the bell rang, Louisa and Chloe grabbed each of my arms from both sides and dragged me out the classroom to the Girls Bathroom. Louisa and Chloe were the only ones who seemed sweet and friendly in the entire school. They were the first ones to offer me a table to sit at lunch and since 5 days, we've been hanging out together.
Louisa has a very charming personality. She has green eyes, and blonde hair that reaches just below her shoulders. She's confident and pretty much all the boys want to go out with her but according to her, she's very picky and wants some time to find the one. She has a great fashion sense from what I learned in the past days..
On the other hand, Chloe, is very shy and just the sweetest person you'll ever meet. She has long blonde hair and hazel eyes which make her look absolutely gorgeous. Her looks are ravishing but she is completely opposite to Louisa. She's so not into parties and other events but she sure gives the best advises.
Sometimes its hard to believe how two girls with completely different interests could get along so well.
And then there's me, a normal 17 year old teenager who just moved to Medford after her father lost his job.. Now I'm here, with my dad who found a better job and an older brother, completing my last year of high school and I have no idea about my future. Neither have I selected a university I want to go to nor have I thought about my interests and what I want to do.
My thoughts were interrupted by Chloe waving her hand in front of my face. "Mel, you really need a break from all the packing and stuff and-" Chloe was cut off by Louisa. "And for that we have decided that we will be going to a party tonight! And nah uh you're not saying no because Chloe and I already made plans."
"Hey I have not! You're dragging me in this." Chloe blurted out. And from the corner of my eye i saw Lou glaring at her.
I didn't like this. I've always hated parties. The loud music, people making out, alcohol and- "Mel don't think too much. You're coming and its final."
"Guys.. I have a lot of work to complete and Dad needs my help. I can go next time but this time you two should go without me." I tried to make an excuse.
"Oh come on! It's Friday and I'm pretty sure your Dad wants you to leave all that stress behind and have a day off." I saw Chloe nodding from the corner of my eye. I guess she has a point. I have to loosen up a little. Besides, one thing I've learned in these five days is that you can't argue with Lou.
