One nice cool Sunday American Dr. Emmanuel De LaBaptiste was walking while reading the newspaper. The War of the French and Indians (1754-1763) was still going on. Many Soldiers were arriving back into France wounded and physically damaged. Deep into his thoughts on how many soldiers he may have to help and cure, he bumped into a young man. Being taken down to earth from his thoughts he tried apologizing to the young man, but he ran, he looked as if he was in a hurry to get somewhere or running from something, maybe someone. The Man had a British patch on his collared shirt. That was something Dr.LaBaptiste took into great deliberation. Not far from where Dr.LaBaptiste was standing he heard out a great cry in the distance of a woman. He dashed to go to see where this was coming from. Once he arrived at the scene he had seen an older woman with bloodstains on her shirt crying in front of an apartment building. A great blanket of discomfort rose over his body. He walked over to the woman was ask what had happened. The older woman stood up from crouching on the ground calmly and slowly and looked the doctor in his eyes and said ", ils ont tué ma fille et petits-enfants innocents." Even though the doctor spoke mainly English he knew she said ", they killed my daughter and innocent grandchildren." He asked her if she may speak English so he may understand her better. She looked to the ground and nodded her head. He wondered who would do such a horrid crime. He looked at the little lady in her eyes and asked for the whole story. With her head still down she told him " I came to visit my child Andréa who has been sick for a while. I walked throughout the apartment and I yelled "Andréa!" but there was no reply. I started to worry because the faucet water was still running. I ran to my grandchildren's room and, There they were lying on the -. The woman could not continue on with her story. The Dr.LaBaptiste knew what this crime was. The French Penal code states that criminals are punished by a jail time up to life imprisonment (no more than 30 years if the defendant is not sentenced to life) for killing parents and children. Dr. Emmanuel was going to bring this family justice. The only thing he could not figure out why would a criminal kill a mother and her two children. He walked over to the older lady and said ", Ma'am I will not rest until I find who killed your child and grandchildren." He placed 3 fingers upon his heart, placed them upon his lips, and then held them in the air. Although he wasnt a detective the story made his heart sank.
